The eye test when I watched Leverkusen games in the Bundesliga is that he had freedom not to chase down, press high often like a Coutinho type. Not sure he can adapt to team that lets their offensive CM in Szoboslai chase and press so much that his superhuman stamina runs out anyway. Probably why Bayern is his likely destination where strong and more physical players like Musiala and Olise will chase, work out of possession for him.

Pythag gang do really in depth videos assessing every attribute of a footballer

They've had some controversial scores in the past, but I think the process outweighs every single result.

Remember, FSG operates on a buy to sell. If the Wirtz transfer does happen, it means a significant player will be sold.

Strong links of Barca wanting Diaz for €80m. Heard the same rumor last summer. Barca's finances were the reason why it fell through.

Who was you going to sell when you put 110 big ones on the table for Caicedo a few seasons ago?

There's a portion of LFC fans that do not believe the club actually made that offer, despite Brighton publicly accepted it. Note I am not one of these.

And since that window, the running joke has been, "Where's the Caicedo money?"

We do know the club spent little last summer. But there's going to be several outgoings including the likes of Nunez, Elliott and Kelleher at the very least. One LB, either Tsimikas or Robertson, will go as well. But as far as big money, Diaz makes the most sense to help offset.

The biggest question is whether or not signing Wirtz means no forward.

That's nasty coping if so. Liverpool fans have a god complex when the matter is anything that doesn't go their way.

Anyways, we're seeing the Caicedo money right here front and center. They couldn't break the PL record last time due to unfortunate circumstances. It sounds like they're set to smash that mark here with Wirtz.

Better hope he lives up to the hype.

I'm very curious to know what the end transfer fee will be. From what I've seen, Bayern was willing to go up to €100m. Bayer wanted €150m. Will it be for the full amount or some where in between.

Only 200,000 per week? For some reason, I thought it would be higher.

Unreal. I didn't think we had this kind of pull. But, have to remind myself that nothing is guaranteed until it is.
It's time for 5 refs.

All hating aside, Wirtz is one of my favourite players in world football.

I've gone on record saying he's more effective than Musiala and just flat-out better than Bellingham. World class #10.

If you get him for anything less than a Prem record fee, it's a fantastic deal considering his stature and resume at that age.

Hoping he's another Bundesliga scam though... German ESR.

I think Olise is comfortably better, and would be a better attacking midfielder if he played there as well. Olise is really a natural 10 by trade that developed elite running power and wide playmaking.

I think outside of Yamal he's the best RW in the world.

Wirtz is very good though.

Cherki is going to kill at a bigger club, can't believe the disparity in price tags between him and Wirtz. Lyon has done an amazing job of neutralizing him with players that don't complement him for years. Going to see it with French NT what happens when he's got attackers with pace and awareness
