You got coaches that have actually delivered a championship getting fired. How the hell is this guy still here?!?

thibs is being scapegoated here. i think thibs has the team overachieving. trying to overcome having awful defenders at the 1 and 5 and a garbage bench is a tough feat. getting to the ecf with that is an achievement. weaknesses get exposed in the playoffs. brunson is basically iverson and kat is soft. hart cant shoot and there are no ball handling playmakers on the roster. and yall are in the ecf!

I also think he's getting knocked for not using Mitch enough. But... he prob knows Mitch's health better than anybody.
Mitch was really limping out there tonight. Not sure his body can take that kind of labor at this rate. Thibs prob knows this. In a perfect world, Mitch could be KAT's Gobert. But this isn't a perfect world.
Hopefully we at least get another legit role player in the offseason. And make Hart a 6th man again.

no, getting to the ECF is a testament to our talent. thibs is most certainly holding this roster back with his ancient schemes on both offense and defense. the guy isn't creative at all and has no idea how to properly utilize the roster
every single team thibs coaches is bottom 3 in bench minutes. you mean to tell me the guy just so happens to have the worst bench in the A every time he signs a contract? give me a break. look at OKC and what the players say about their coach. he throws guys out there all season long is every situation to get them comfortable in different lineups, moments, scenarios. That's why they're ready to contribute at any moment.

I'm so down for skipping all of that angst
Fair weather fandom, here I come!
If they bring him back I might take next season off. We are a better team than the Pacers and should be up 2-0. It's beyond frustrating. We have the players.

Not on the coach, I think it’s the players just aren’t good enough. KAT defensively is just too bad. And we need to upgrade Payne. I think we find a Payne replacement and as a start and keep KAT unless a Giannis comes available.

He stepped on a Pacers' foot in the 4th but our coach decided to keep him out there.
Are you fans of the team or the player?

No he really isn’t being scapegoated. I am flabbergasted at fans that continue to defend him and not hold him accountable whatsoever.
Weaknesses get exposed due to poor coaching. Good coaches know how to compensate and adapt to their personnel.
He insists on playing lineups that just don’t work. We have large sample sizes that show this is on a statistical level. He doesn’t make any kind of adjustments at all. When something is working, he refuses to stick to it despite the small samples of success. He refuses to give other guys a look, even if it’s for a couple of minutes only. I can’t name one good reason for playing Payne extended minutes over guys like Wright or Kolek. I can’t name one good reason why he keeps rolling out a starting 5 that has consistently put them in holes. He has zero feel how to make decisions based off what’s working and what isn’t. It’s almost as he’s purposely doubling down against common sense.
He is stubborn to a fault. This team has flaws, there’s no question about it. But Thibs also fumbled these home games badly. These games were super tight and close. Good coaching can help propel teams to overcome the tiniest of margins. Just look at what Carlisle is doing. I can’t believe I even had to point this all out. It’s not like they’re being ran out of the court.
He’s painfully out of his depth here, and anyone that says otherwise, is just fooling themselves.
These losses are mainly on him. Kat is a bad defender and Hart can’t shoot. Yet, they were in a great position to go up 2-0 instead of 0-2. FOH with all this Thibs being scapegoated nonsense.

You have a point about the bench but there are also lineup issues and issues around the talent in general.

Re: Thibs needs to go
I’m done defending this dude. He makes it so hard on his team with his static lineups that don’t change. We were getting killed by Siakam but he pretends like he has no one to answer. Meanwhile, the Pacers were getting killed on the boards and Carlisle randomly plays Tony Bradley to at least help.
He’s got guys on the bench that have given the Knicks good minutes like Hukporti, Delon Wright, and Shamet but we have to watch Cam Payne minutes and pretend he has no options. I’m glad we are in the ECF but this team is underachieving right now.

Mike Malone is CAA + worked for the Knicks in the past so there’s some hope if we can rid ourselves from Thibs

Malone scares me. He seems like a Thibs clone. Got fired for prioritizing vets over team depth. Plays max 7-8 guys. Old school. Only thing that might be beneficial is he may know how to get the best out of KAT after coaching Jokic all those years. I still prefer Bryant or Jenkins.
Fire Thibs!

Yep!
Malone is 14 years younger than Thibs.
Getting Malone would be like giving Thibs a 20 year extension.

This is correct, it’s roster construction not the coach. There’s no coach I would hire unless Spo comes available.

Such a bad take. Clearly not roster construction.
