3rd Overall to the Wizards (Also Beal goes back to Washington)
Philadelphia 76ers get:
Khris Middleton
Marcus Smart
6th Overall Draft Pick
18th Overall Draft Pick
Phoenix Suns get:
Paul George
Washington Wizards get:
Bradley Beal
Eric Gordon
3rd Overall Draft Pick
29th Overall Draft Pick
76ers drop back to create a ton more flexibility moving forward to retool around Maxey or continue to build for the now around both him and Embiid.
Suns take on the extra year and give up a late first, but get the better player when healthy and there's not a no-trade clause attached.
Wizards get Beal back as a veteran to lead the young core and can draft a legitimate piece to that young core with 3rd Overall.

i feel like Beal only approves this if the Wizards are going to buy him out so he can be a cheap contributor on a contender. The Wizards should do this anyway except without #18

Depends on how high WAS is on Ace Bailey, but at first glance might be too good for the Sixers; they’d have to give more, or WAS keeps 18.

Beal has already said he won't agree to a trade out of Phoenix.

I would do that as the Wizards. I don't see Philly agreeing.

I liked the OP trade idea. Would change to this:
Sixers get #6, #29, Smart, Middleton
Wizards get #3, Beal, Gordon
Suns get PG13

Except Beal won't agree, and the Wizards would prefer PG13 anyway.

This is a wild overpay for Washington.
It's easy for us as fans to overlook the dollar cost of these transactions, but owners sure won't. Paul George looks like he might be washed. He will certainly be washed over the last 2 years of his contract which will pay him $110M dollars. That's effectively dead money. You are asking the Wizards to pay 110 MILLION DOLLARS to move up 3 spots in the draft! As a fan, I can easily say, "sure, it's not my money", but in the real world, nobody pays THAT much for pick capital.
I think for this trade to be reasonable, it would only be the #18 going back to Philly, not the #6. Again, as a fan, I'd probably do this as you posted it, but in the real world, an owner would not. Likewise, Philly fans will probably scream an howl that they would never do this because it's not THEM saving $110M in real dollars (and probably more like double of that when you factor luxtax savings over the years). But their owner might consider it.
Ultimately, it's very difficult for us fans to speak meaningfully about these issues because we lack the perspective. When we are talking about buying a SRP for $8M or so, we at least have a long track record of such transactions to develop an informed marketplace. But buying lottery picks happens very rarely so we don't really understand the market.
If Washington and Philly could agree on their portion of the trade, I would absolutely be in favor of flipping George to Phoenix for Beal's shorter contract and then buying out Beal.

Beal should agree just as a thank you to the Wizards for that insane contract.
Wizards aren’t looking to use cap soon not sure if this is the most efficient use but is there a buyout that makes sense over two years that both sides would do?

I just don't think PG13 is washed. He can rehab his value with them, like when OKC rehabbed guys like CP3 and Horford.

How about this instead:
Paul George, Ricky Council, Adem Bona, #3
for
Herb Jones, CJ McCollum, Kelly Olynyk, #7

I’d counter with:
Washington gets:
- Beal
- 2025 3rd overall (Philly)
- 2025 28th overall (PHX)
Philly gets:
- 2025 6th overall (Wash)
- 2025 40th overall (Wash)/ or a future pick
- Middleton
- Kispert
- Colby Jones
Phx gets:
- Paul George
- 2025 35th overall (Philly)
Right now PG’s deal is the worst one, bc he’s owed 50+ mill over 3 years, and he’s only getting older. Beal has the most immovable due to his no-trade, so they still should give up something for getting a team to take on Beals deal that he might actually agree to.
PHX now gets a player at a position that actually can compliment Booker, and can move him later if they need to. Philly moves back slightly, gets a vet wing that comes off the books next year and another wing shooter.
