Gafford to DET for a mid-value FRP?
Would Detroit be interested in Daniel Gafford for a mid-value FRP?
As a Dallas fan, I'm trying to trade Gafford for a ball handler. A lot of teams with tradable ball handlers don't need gafford or aren't looking to win now. I'm trying to see if Detroit would be a good third team. Detroit would have to operate under the cap to make it work, I believe.

No, Detroit have Duren (even tho I don't like him because of his mentality and terrible defense) and Stewart alread.
Detroit should be interested in PJ Washington however, I am not sure if an expiring Washington is worth a mid 1st tho.

I don't know, I would say they are covered in the center with Duren/Stewart, I suppose if they add a big man, it would be one that can stretch the floor... PJ Washington I think would be ideal next to Cade... for Gafford, the Hawks fit me (if they pass on Capela?) Maybe the Warriors? NOP

Re: Gafford to DET for a mid-value FRP?
He simply doesn't have mid 1st value anywhere. He is a low tier starter center and likely a backup on better teams just like he is on the Mavs now. He is worth close to what Dallas paid for him (bad long contract in Holmes and projected late pick that year which landed at #26) but as an expiring now could be even less. Now of course value can change based on market demand, but Gaff is just not a unique enough player to see a big value change. A late 1st and matching salary is likely Dallas best case.

If Dallas concern is value, PJ is the guy to move. Gafford is more a multiple 2nds guy.

Gafford is not a fit on this roster as presently constructed, and does not have first round value.
It’s something I could imagine if we’re moving Duren or Stewart, but not at this price point.

Bulls offer Vuc/Port pick for Gafford/Prosper
Dallas can use the Port pick for the rebuild and adds a VERY good backup center who fits well with AD

Take Duren back and make it some 2nds instead and I'm all about it.
But there's no reason for the Mavericks to do that.

I can't see any interest from Detroit.

Re: Gafford to DET for a mid-value FRP?
If value is multiple 2nds as stated above, I would absolutely make that offer for the Spurs. Also interested in PJ Washington, if Spurs could extend them I would do 14 + 38 + future 2nds + expirings for both of them. Any idea what they are expecting salary wise?

Detroit's the wrong team for this as they seem happy with Duren/Stewart
investigate Adam Silver

Can we get Lonzo in a trade with Gafford? That's the move I want, but I don't want Dallas to give up a FRP.

Re: Gafford to DET for a mid-value FRP?
I don't see Gafford having 1st round value. His best role is a 20 min big off the bench, and a bench player on an expiring contract just isn't worth a 1st. The only way I see mid 1st value is if Dallas is taking back a multi-year moderately bad contract.

ORL will send you #25 and even give you back a less expensive Goga to fill in for big man depth to keep AD at PF.

I like this value, would ORL be interested in a:
Gafford/Hardy/Powell for Bitadze/Anthony/#25
or
Gafford/Martin for Bitadze/Anthony/#25

I would...prefer the first as ORL (I assume) would not want the longer term Martin deal. Decent player, decent deal, but ORL will be up against it soon.ORL might be a good fit for Hardy as well...less expensive young scorer off the bench, surrounded by defenders who will let him do the scoring.
