Even a minor league park is not a cure for this team's disgraceful offensive woes over the years in Tampa.

Sorry guys, this was my fault for celebrating the trops destruction last year.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Tampa has dominated us throughout the years, no matter where we play them.
We struggled to score more than a single run against a pitcher who entered the game with an ERA over 5. It's quite disgraceful and an embarrassment that Atkins still has a job man...

They really struggle with RISP, they just cannot seem to get a hit when they need one. I guess the hitting coach was not the problem all these years. It's the **** players.

Ross Atkins/Shapiro are responsible for the players, and they were given the fifth highest Payroll in MLB. Absorbing nearly 100 million over 5 years to Ryan Goins 2.0 in Gimenez, paying 92.5 million over 5 years to Santander (who if you do a deep dive into his career batting numbers/metrics) was always way overrated in my opinion, and paying 15.5 million to a broken down Scherzer- was not the way to go this past off-season. Those financial resources could have been more wisely spent to shore up this team. Not sure why this team did not make another run at Teoscar Hernandez as DH over Santander, who has been again very good this year offensively for the Dodgers.
Teoscar was the guy I would have targeted again and said so last November. Teoscar said he would have been interested in coming back and Vlad was pushing him to come back, but Atkins and the Jays front office was not interested. He signed for three years and Santander signed for five. You could have also signed Kikuchi again who was also interested in coming back, and would have solidified this rotation instead of counting on a broken down Scherzer. Kikuchi has been terrific over the past month or so. But mainly, this team is missing another Power Bat in the lineup in the heart of the order. I am not sure how you are going to get it now since their farm system is one of the worst in MLB, and they have no real assets to trade to acquire a legit difference maker.

Turning this off, switching to the Oilers Stars game instead.

This offense is anemic. Outside of Vladdy and Springer, none of the regulars even have an OPS over 800. No power, no run manufacturing and just putrid offense all around. I was told the previous hitting coach was the problem.. whats the excuse with the new coach?
Shatkins need to be fired and they should take their boys Schneider, Kirk, Varsho, Straw and Gimenez with them while they're at it.

Varsho and Kirk have been great over the past few weeks; they’re quite literally the only reason this bad team even stays close to .500.
Springer has been awful for a month now, their worst hitter over that stretch. They should have traded him while they had the chance.

I get it. You have the hots for Varsho. Hopefully Shatkins take you with them too once they're fired so I dont have to ever read you posts musing about Varsho and his FWAR.

If we had a team of players on the same level of Varsho, the Jays would be a contender and not the trash team they actually are.
Place your blame on the individuals actually responsible.

Lol a lineup of 9 Varshos will not even win 50 games. There's hardly any room for a single guy hitting 200 with an OBP of sub-250 let alone 9 of those. It's interesting how to pick out Varsho from my post and defend him instead of blaming Shatkins for creating a **** team where you think Varsho is the MVP. Cant wait for the day Shatkins **** off and the new GM sends Varsho, Kirk, Gimenez, Springer etc packing.

A lineup of 9 Varshos would be the best team in baseball by a mile. We could only hope to acquire that many elite players and we should clearly trying to be retain the ones we do have as long as possible.
