This is one of the most likely choices. Chicago has way too many PGs and will have to make some decisions this summer to offload 1 or 2 of them. Dosunmu is skilled enough to hold it down for a team like Dallas while Kyrie recovers IMO. He had some great stretches before CHI traded for Giddey and Coby White started to garner more minutes.

CHI can easily shed both Dosunmu and Ball and still have plenty of ball handlers remaining. A trade between them and Dallas this summer makes a lot of sense.

Nah. AK’s holding out for a 1st, or for his value to reach rock bottom due to contract status, whichever comes first. For one of the worst FO in basketball, it will be the latter of course.

As their current financials stand it doesn't look like they have room for even a TPMLE let alone the Full MLE. They're going to have to get rid of some salary in order to gain access to those exceptions. With that said there are a few intriguing stop-gap point guards that can also be complimentary off the bench in Irving's return. If they're able to open up room I'd like:

Tyus Jones (quality playmaker and also accustomed to bench role if he has to move there later on)
Schroder (solid playmaker, tough, 6th man, history with AD although he rarely used him as a lob target)
Brogdon (solid all around vet, injury prone, older)

In that order for them. Brandin Williams can be the backup while Irving is still sidelined and move to 3rd string in his return.
