LaMelo is more talented than Haliburton.
It’s up to him if he wants to be that good. he can be.

the way he's started the last two seasons, he definitely is when actually healthy, but that's a real problem. he's gotta learn how to stay efficient when he isn't 100% because chances are he's not going to be 100% come playoff time

Jeff Teague called Melo, Haliburton on steroids. its no reason we cant model our team after the pacers

The team was heading in that direction under Borrego and Kupchak until Jordan got cheap and Miles decided to blow up his life. One of those problems has been rectified, still waiting on the other one to get resolved...

Re: Around the NBA 12
it has always annoyed me to see the physicality allowed for teams like OKC and Orlando but not others.
I just watched Lou Dort body check Edwards for an entire possession and nobody cares

Hopefully this OKC offense winning convinces the rest of the NBA, especially Charles Lee, that mid range jump shots are OK and can diversify your half court game.
Never forget Dirk 2011 having the greatest championship carry job ever, all from midrange.

I really hate Perkins and I really hate espn. I almost feel like Perkins tries to be as dumb as possible on purpose.
So in his eyes you have to be married and have kids to be the face of relief. Gives examples of former popular players, three of which very publicly cheated on their wives. I'm almost surprised he didn't throw Karl Malone in there.

Can’t be as efficient as Hali ever. Let alone tonight.

Re: Around the NBA 12
The Pacers are lowkey one of the best organizations in the league. They haven't had a top 5 pick in like two or three decades or something crazy and usually make the playoffs.
They rebuilt the Lance/PG13/Hibbert team, then that team (Dipo, Sabonis forgot who else) maxed out so they traded them. And along with those trade acquisitions (Hali) they went out and traded for Siakam too, and now they're a contender again.
If the Hornets can even do half as good as that, I'd be stoked. Make smart trades + don't draft significant busts = winning formula.
In that same period of time, we've been either tanking or trying to win but doing very badly with it.

I hate defending Perk, but I think he was trying to subtlety bring up Edward's issue of having a lot of children but then showing zero interest in supporting or being in their lives. You ideally want the face of your league to have better moral values than that. Ant just comes off as a total prick to me.

sure... I think we could all read between the lines and understand that advertisers have always wanted to put big money behind more wholesome athletes. the problem is perk is a **** moron Who can barely speak publicly and yet somehow ESPN has thrown big money and keeping him around for 5 plus years. His inability to articulate the thought coherently completely tanked his message. But then again does talking about Anthony Edwards being a piece of **** dad really belong on the ESPN playoff coverage. But the total irony was him using examples of these wholesome family men three of which notoriously cheated on their wives. Both magic and Jordan were serial adulterers and Kobe may or may not have raped a girl in Denver. So yeah pretty terrible examples of how someone should act as a role model.
Speaking of espn and tnt completely being **** terrible at covering the NBA for the past decade. If in fact the Thunder and Pacers make it to the finals and the ratings are down the NBA only has their broadcast partners to blame. They've been allowing these jaded former players to **** all over the product for far too long. I hope nbc doesn't drop the ball. A chance to really do some huge improvements in the way the Nba is covered in the media

I think American sports media is realizing how insanely lucky they were to have LeBron/KD/Curry as the big 3 faces of the league for so long.
Two dudes who were ultimate family men and one dude who's whole life is ball. No issues of gambling, infidelity, domestic drama. League must be concenred guys like Zion, Morant and Ant are suppsoe to be the next American faces of the league

Re: Around the NBA 12
The NBA media coverage is always either negative or positive... but.
There's hardly any positive converge without any qualifiers. Most (if not all besides guys like Legler) of the former players are solidly in the negative camp, or are just too dumb (Perkins) to actually make sense.

Re: Around the NBA 12
And let's be honest. part of the problem is that the last seven or so mvps have all been non American. I think that's important in all of this. joker, giannis, embiid, sga, luka, wemby... etc... They certainly do not have the marketing appeal of an American like lebron, curry etc.. Like you guys have mentioned some of the younger American players are not really the family marketing type, And they have yet to really tap into the social media popularity of guys like Melo... To be fair you can't be the face of the league when you miss half your games and you play on a terrible team in a small market.
