Deuce had 3 fouls in under 2 minutes of playing time in the 1st quarter. He had to play Delon. It worked out because Delon was playing smart like a veteran.

The mystery is why Delon basically got no minutes except when there was zero alternative. He's not a scrub - this was a gift and Thibs did nothing with it.

Benching him was a mistake he was still one of our most impactful players on the court and came up huge for us again down the stretch

I had to go get food in the middle of the game (no choice in the matter) so i missed most of it. Therefore, I dont have an opinion on if benching him
was a mistake. I do know that Hart had two HUGE rebounds down the stretch that if he didnt get could have easily lead to a loss.

Pretty gross - the block on Deuce in the last couple of minutes was absolutely clean.

They owed us for the goaltend in game 1.

Foul on the body anyway, at least per how they called it against the Knicks.... They gave Siakam a bunch on those calls

Perhaps Rose finally took action after several years of WW Wes saying Thibs needs to open up the rotation

I believe it would be something like that, because Thibs is stubborn to the point of blindness when facts are staring him in the face.

If Thibs believed the rest of his career depended on winning this game (and it certainly could have, because getting swept in the ECF is not what this FO was banking on) then starting Mitch was Thibs looking after Thibs, not Thibs making a purely rational decision.

It is impossible to trust Thibs to make these decisions on his own so it is entirely believable he got strong-armed by management to mix it up and expand the rotation.

Desperation sometimes bring change though, so tonight was a good outcome regardless of what got Thibs to do it

I think coming off the bench helped Hart too, he only played 34 minutes and had some back breaking rebounds in the 4th where he was flying for them. He played the entire 4th and looked fresh for the first time in forever.

Maybe but on the whole I honestly don’t think Mitch adds much. He’s slow and out of breath and a spot minute player

He guards the perimeter well

He gets some boards — he is def not a starter and KAT needs to play the 5 offensively
