Here is the cold hard truth about the Pacers:

Their defense is terrible and you can put anyone in the game and get offensive production vs them because they have poor defensive principles.

Their offense also tends to go cold for no reason, usually because Hali tends to go into fetal position several times a game. During these periods, you need to capitalize.

You need to play your bench because it's not a matter of if but when they produce. If you can rest your starters and have them come back with energy to finish the game, they have a better chance to close it out against the Pacers eventual comeback attempts.

TJ is a very good player but he runs out of gas quick and then becomes a major liability out there. You need to full court press this guy to finish him off quickly. Bring in Wright or Deuce when he comes in and shadow him every second he is out there with physicality.

Siakam has a tendency for hero ball and sometimes he performs well enough to carry the game. In some ways he kinda plays like Randle. Thibs had Randle for years, by now he should know how to get into these player's heads. Late doubles tend to screw this guy up.

When Turner is not in the game, you should simply penetrate 90% of the time, they are too soft to stop drives and play terrible help defense.

If Thibs doesnt get out of his stubborn ways and goes back to mismanagement of game 1 and 2 its over.

Thibs showed blatant favoritism by benching KAT in Game 2. If he did the same for JB in Game 1, we would have been up 2-1.

But what is done is done. It is just ironic that the guy whom Thibs hung out to dry two days ago was the very one who saved him today. KAT put the team on his shoulders while Deuce, Delon and Landry helped push him up the stairs.

It is sad to think that this may be too late. Carlisle is too smart to lose consecutive games to an inferior coach. Quite unfortunate as I think Delon and Landry would have helped us in the Finals, especially against OKC.

Yeah this next game is gonna be hard. They’ll probably do something new at KAT and he’ll be unready for it bc Tom doesn’t think ahead.

OG is back for me. But Tom and Mikal are permanent members of my list.

finally could watch the 4th quarter. well damn after all the discussion the last few days KAT pulled this off? insanity.
That is why you trade for a player of his caliber when you get the chance.
Also my second gameball goes to OG. he was the one guy keeping us afloat in the first three quarters. Deuce and Hart came up big as well late.

It's funny, I didn't get to watch the game until late last night, and during the first half I was reading this board.
So I was setting my expectations low. Like all of you I was pleasantly surprised by the second half .

This IS FINALLY the type of rotation we were waiting for from Thibs. No Brunson and KAT together unless Mitch was in. DELON and Shamet over Payne. Finally, finally, finally some smarter rotations and player utilization based on the matchup.

You need to get this post to the Knicks. I'm afraid that by the next game, Thibs will have forgotten it all...

This was probably my favorite Thibs rotation/utilzation all post season.

Give these new substitution patterns another run and they will have better chemistry.

The most important part which I was saying from early game one is absolutely minimize KAT at 1 and Brun at 5 out there together. And the times they are Mitch needs to be out there.

Carlisle is absolutely NUKING the KAT/Brun combination. Learn your lesson and stay the heck away from that combo
