In terms of efficiency and assist rate, that was one of the best offensive performances in Seattle Storm history.

That's saying something considering Seattle might be the best organization in W history.

And they completely shut down the Aces offense.

Go on with your Fever, Liberty, Lynx celebrating. Storm might have something to say about it too.

And just generally as an old fart myself, Skylar and Nneka being a little long in the tooth by W standards and nobody seemingly caring about them anymore while they are all on to newer shinier things, I'm here for it if some wiley vets want to show everybody a thing or two.

I don't know how far it will go, but doubt them if you want to.

Are the Aces sliding out of the top tier? Plum is gone, Chelsea Gray is 32, and Jewell Lloyd is 31. Guards tend to age faster than bigs; the NBA is littered with guards who were stars in their 20s, but who came down to earth in their early 30s, when they lost a step.

Just throwing out the possibility that this team might have become too thin to be a contender -- not enough help for A'ja. We shall see.

aces didn't really have enough help for wilson last year did they?
if a'ja didn't have a superhuman season that's a lot more pedestrian team

It definitely seems possible.

Seattle and New York have good perimeter defenders, so that's going to be a tough matchup for them.

Seattle really did seem particularly inspired yesterday though, which makes sense.

Whatever actually happened in Seattle with Jewell, who knows, but however it went down, she made it clear she did not want to play with this team. That's bound to get some extra juices going.

It definitely seems possible.

For them to remain in the top tier, Chelsea, Jackie, and Jewell have to be great. Seattle and New York have good perimeter defenders, so that's going to be a tough matchup for them. Gabby was on Chelsea much of the game, and that certainly made things difficult.

No games tonight.

Tomorrow, the Liberty meet the Valkyries for the first time ever.

Storm vs Lynx however is the game of the night

Raw as hell, but she plays with great energy. Yesterday was her first game with meaningful minutes (12), though mostly in the 2nd half when the beat down was in full swing. Most of her minutes against Liz Kitley, who also looked really good. Really rooting for that kid too (and the Aces need her in the worst way).

Some solid passing and driving. Knocked down what appeared to be a 3, but her toe was on the line. She did get her shot-blocked by Kitley, but put it back.

She just moves so well with her size and length.

Here are her highlights from yesterday.

I thought Chicago played fairly well until this 3rd quarter stretch where Plum and Azura just went off.

Pretty fascinated to see where LA ends up. Hamby and Plum is strong veteran duo. Azura looks great. Hopefully, Rickea is back soon. Then Brink and Rae.

Race for the last few playoff spots is going to be intense.

Really impressed with Wheeler so far. Wasn't expecting much after she looked so bad in Indiana.

It's always a matter of fit, and it seems to be a good fit for her so far.

Plum is on a mission this year. I'm telling you, that Aces vs Sparks game is gonna get testy.

I wonder when Cam returns.

Chicago's guard play and coaching are highly concerning.

Erica probably just needed a change of scenery.

Those practice scrimmages with her and Skylar have to be intense.
