They can’t do it defensively, they got to stagger KAT at center

2nd in blocks in the 4th :o

Easily a top 4 player in the entire postseason. Where is the narrative coming from that he's been "terrible" and we "can't win with him"? :nonono:

Need to put together a complete 48min game in the next one. Turnovers are so key cause that's when Indy gets out and runs

Won one we played poorly in and lost one we played well in

Both times JB came out, G1 and G3, we went on runs

There’s just no chance Thibs is gonna change the lineup again after a win

Also — unrelated — but at one point he had Mikal bring the ball up multiple possessions in a row and the whole purpose was to get JB going so he can put on his cape

I love JB but this shows that Thibs doesn’t understand that we played great when JB exited in G1 and then again last night

Still I blame Thibs mostly — I think JB is maybe out of gas

Can’t really look at Deuce’s FG% and say he’s not playing well. He’s making a significant impact and it’s the playoffs where shots are harder

Nembhard doesn’t seem to be playing that well for some reason … been quiet

Deuce is averaging 33% from the field and 27% from 3 in the series. I dont see the point here

His defense is impactful and he has only taken 18 shots in this series so his numbers can improve significantly in a single game.

And about half of his scoring so far is from free throws which means some of those missed FGs were turned into points at the free throw line so his FG% is not as bad as you think.

He's a better scoring option than Hart with better defense so I don't see why you don't see the point.

The previous game turned around because of him, Wright and Shamet

He’s ok for bench minutes but he’s not a starter. His defense is sometimes good sometimes bad. The bad defense is what got him in foul trouble when he was just hacking. His scoring is very inconsistent and more suitable for a bench role than someone that you want to depend on in the starting lineup. Hes not a better scorer than Hart. No the game didn’t turnaround because of those guys, it turned around because of KAT carrying the whole team on his back. Plus Hart was part of that lineup so I’m not sure why you are giving them all the credit as if he wasn’t out there, hustling and playing defense. He even closed the game out and made huge plays which secured the win. He did more than those guys to help us win.

I mostly agree with you on this, Deuce is better off the bench, has struggled as a starter, and is undersized and we’d lose too much size and rebounding with Hart. And as you say he’s only shooting 27% from 3 although I still trust him more to hit one than Hart. I’d still run the same starting lineup as last game but they could maybe stagger it a little differently depending on who has the hot hand

Can’t win with him comes from Thibs making no effort to help him offensively

Mikal needs to focus on the midrange game.

Mitch and KAT should start together again.

Bring in Josh, Wright, Deuce, Shamet. Mix and match. Keep bodies fresh.

There’s a reason why shamet deuce and wright worked with KAT. Shamet deuce and wright get over the pick. They get skinny and rotate quickly so the pacers can’t target the switch on KAT. That’s why it worked.

AND hart or OG were back there to help

F N 11 wrote:Marcus Morris says Thibs played Delon and Shamet because he had to. will be interesting to see if he goes back to them. Also says Towns had towns to work without Brunson very interesting. Maybe go back to Kat with bench so we can slit Brunson and Kat with defenders.

everyone who follows the team knows that thibs played them because guys were in foul trouble and he had no other choice. that's usually how it happens.

but usually once he stumbles and bumbles into something that works he is willing to try it again next game on his own accord. so hopefully they see the floor tomorrow night.

Not sure about everything else but the game was 63-78 and Deuce went on a 7-0 run to close the gap. He was instrumental in the comeback.

Deuce has been a huge positive factor. He's gotten to the line for some key free throws. In general, his speed really helps keep up with the Pacers on defense. Picks his guy up full court. Disruptive and physical. Endless effort. Always seems like he is the one to launch last second heaves too.

He could knock down a few more 3s.... Saving his hot streak for the 2nd half of the series. Just being a threat helps everyone
