You completely skipped over my initial statements about Deuce's effectiveness on offensive due to scoring from the FT line. And then you made it about not crediting KAT when nobody did that. Now you're using Josh Hart to discredit other player's contributions while NONE OF US are using other players to discredit their contributions. It's OK, I'm done with this convo. You just ignore what people say and move the goalposts every time.

You said start Deuce over Hart and I said I didn’t see the point because Deuce isn’t doing anything better. You then tried to credit our comeback to Deuce, Shamet and Wright and acted like they did more than Hart to help us win. Again I disagreed and gave my reasons why. He’s a great coach but he came to a team that already had Patrick Ewing Charles Oakley John Starks Anthony Mason mark jackson Greg Anthony X man and several others. Thibs inherited a garbage dump. To hold that against Thibs because he had an extra season is some nasty work

and then just playing Wright and Shamet a handful of minutes where they come out and defend and give our starters a rest allows them to have more energy later in games.

Our best defensive possession came late in the 4th qtr...look at the awareness and the extra effort so late in the 4th. This doesn't happen with guys tired.

Deuce on that play

Deuce has been fantastic.

We're also seeing a lot of offensive improvement, even if the raw numbers don't reflect it. Pull up 3s, rim attacks, a better handle overall... Could be a Christian Braun situation (I initially wrote Carl Braun but that's the Knicks 50s player).

Braun and Deuce do play similarly to each other

I think Robinson needs to go back to the bench. He looked like he was about to puke and collapse on the floor. Pacers were flying up a down the floor and he couldn’t keep up anymore. He’s better off the bench.

Mikal struggling to shoot no matter who he plays with. He just can’t shoot. 6-18 from the field and 1-6 from 3 and continuing to shoot poorly not just this series but all playoffs long. He’s been the worst fit in the starting lineup, doesn’t really add anything. He has to improve his shooting otherwise what good is he?

Regarding Mitch, I think the switch we can make is to subbing him out and JB at the 6 minute mark and keep KAT in instead. Then bring both JB and Mitch back to start the 2nd quarter. Mitch playing at the start of quarters prevents teams from even thinking about a Hack-a-Mitch strategy unless they want to be in the penalty quickly.

I actually look at Hart coming off the bench through another lens.

This guy just won the NBA minutes award and has already logged over 40min 6x in the playoffs having played 45min in game 1 most recently. This 6th man role should comfortably put him at 32-34min.

It’s not just the extra rest in the first half, Hart will now be getting an extended rest mid-game when you factor in halftime + coming in around the halfway mark in the 3rd.

So if you really want him to get the rebounds that he proclaims “breaks teams” then this role is absolutely ideal.
