What's the best wing the Bucks can get for Kuzma/2031 1st?

Value seems too good to pass for the Heat, but I suspect that they still have 2026 dreams.

Yeah agreed. Could be part of a bigger deal to bring a guy like KD to South Beach

Kuzma doesn't really eat away their 2026 dreams. A couple 2nds would dump his final year.

Hard to know what it would cost to get off his whole salary in a year for me. Maybe he bounces back and its as easy as you suggest. Maybe he repeats his year and is still on selfish mode, and I'd have it definitely cost more to dump.
But if they have big 26 plans, he's definitely not a major hindrance. He'd be just fine matching salary in any trade for a real difference maker, or they could stretch him, etc..
If the Bucks were foolish enough to give an unprotected 1st for Wiggins, you just say thank you very much and don't let a trifling matter like Kyle Kuzma's 26-27 salary stop you.

Would Nets for Johnson for Kuzma/2031 1st?

Nets should do this if it’s on the table. Bucks may aim higher than Cam Johnson but he’d be an excellent fit with Giannis

Really just don’t think that package brings back a wing worth furthering the pick debt.. Kuzma for Cam isn’t changing a season imo.
An ugly idea?
Coby and Patrick for Kuzma, Connaughton, 2031 top 4 protected (2x?)
Hope Patrick bounces back in a low usage role next to Giannis? Hope Coby builds off of last season?

It's not terrible, but I think the Nets can find something better/more near term. I'm not a fan of Kuzma, and wouldn't want him tying up salary in the '26 off-season. 2031 is very far away, and unless the Nets are going to pivot to using it in a star trade, I don't think it moves the needle for them.

Re: Kuzma/2031 Bucks 1st for a wing
Is anyone expecting the 2031 Bucks pick to be a lottery selection when Giannis inevitably signs his supermax? That pick is insanely far out and there's no guarantee the Bucks completely bottom out intentionally or unintentionally. The Nets can get a lottery pick this year for Cam Johnson if they wanted to.

Which team is giving up a lottery pick for Cam?

Giannis will be 36 in 2031. Doubt he would be worth a supermax by that point

I think the Rockets would give 10 for Cam. I won't speak on behalf of other fans, but I could see late lotto picks moved for Cam Johnson if a team wants an established player for an upcoming playoff push.

I don't know if they can, but it always amuses me the narrative becoming see we didn't trade player X so they were absolutely worth what we thought and that's why they didn't get traded. And its rarely, oh I guess he didn't have much value so we should hold on to him because he's a pretty good player.
I think there is a path to a bottom half of the lottery pick for him, especially with contracts attached to the pick. Like if that Spurs/Nets thread was Keldon/14 for Johnson or something like that, I think the Spurs should absolutely do that.

This is the guy they've mortgaged their assets for. It doesn't seem likely they'd be shy to pay him the maximum money he can earn to stay in Milwaukee.
