I like the idea of a Melo for Zion Swap. Maybe we send Melo and 4 for zion and 7 and draft Fears? I think zion has proved more then Melo so that fills the gap from 4 to 7 for me to even it out.

according to this article, there might be a few teams eyeing off Herb hence the high price.

We can't afford to spend big assets on a great role player.

All Zion has proven is he is incapable of staying healthy for a year longer than Melo. I definitely would not be adding any draft assets into that trade.

I'm real confused at folks seemingly being uninterested in Herb Jones. We're just a year removed from him being 5th in DPOY voting while making 42% of his threes.

i think if VJ is gone, we're not big on Ace's fit with Miller, and even halfway thinking about reaching at #4, this is the way to go. I would not have a problem trading back for Herb Jones at all. Especially if we can rid ourselves of Josh Green in the process

I'm not super knowledgeable about him but depending on the salary going out, I think so. Other than last year, he's generally stayed healthy and he's got 2 more years on his deal at a very affordable amount.

If VJ is gone I might take Jones and 7 for 4 and Green. Can get something like Tre/Kon/Maluch/Fears and a solid starter in Jones.

Yeah to be honest, I doubt Pelicans even offer 7 and Herb for 4. Especially if they are seeking 2 firsts for him. 7+ 2 firsts for 4 is probably an overpay if you look at like that.

I would love to trade for PJ, although I feel like it would be cruel to him to do that unless the team makes a real push to be competitive this year.

I think PJ is a better fit than Miles and does more to help you win. Miles puts up gaudier box stats and can actually play SF, so might be a better fit on Dallas long term. Dallas has three players who could be used to match the salary difference between the two. Caleb Martin, Naji Marshall, and Max Christie are all on 2-3 year deals in the 8-10 mil range. Idk about Christie, but I think Martin/Marshall are both negative values on their deals. I wonder what picks and in what direction would be require to make Miles for PJ + Caleb Martin work?

Tre Mann sign and trade is also a possibility if they want a guard.
