Den: PG lotto protected first
Philly: MPJ, Zeke, Saric and Hunter.
Why Denver does it. They get PG which is a slight upgrade but older and on a worse contract. They get an asset in the lotto protected first
Why Philly: they get younger and save salary space on the back end. Get off of PGs contract MPJ only has two years left on his deal

Re: Den Philly
I think I’d only do this as Denver if I’m confident that PG could bounce back, which I’m not sure of.
Philly probably takes this and runs. Rolling the dice on relying on the health of MPJ and Embiid is a tough gamble though.

Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

What year is the lotto protected first, and what happens to it if it does not convey?

I like this for Philly. I can see the rationale for Denver

Re: Den Philly
35 years old PG had his worst season last year and is one of the most injury prone players on terrible contract. MPJ had his best season last year, was better than PG and avilable. He has 2 years on contract now. Nuggets are worst after this trade. 1st doesn't help.

First available draft pic after this year and if it doesn’t convey the first year top 5 protected then unprotected after that

So 2030 lotto protected, '31 top 5, then '32 UNP.
I probably just eat George for another year and find him a new home summer 2026. I don't think your offer is unreasonable, though.

Re: Den Philly
If I'm a playoff team, I'm not touching PG.
Far too much money invested for a player that is often injured and has not shown he can perform when it matters most.
I'm all for Denver seeing what they can get for MPJ, but PG is not the answer

Sometimes a player's greatest challenge is coming to grips with his role on the team
