Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
What do you guys usually go with for iPad storage? I have a pro version that’s like 5-6 years old with 256 GB of storage that has about 45 GB left and would be closer to double that if I deleted some movies I don’t need downloaded on there. Am I going to regret going with 256 GB again this time? I just use it for web browsing, watching tv/movies and playing games - no video editing or anything like that.

I think you’ll be good with 256 again. With everything on the cloud or streaming these days it’s tough to fill up a 500 GB device IMO.

Yeah, that’s the way I was leaning, it just felt weird not getting more than I did last time. Thanks!

Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
Still not sure if I'm gonna give Night Reign an honest shot. I already paid for the deluxe versions, so probably. But between the Alex Garland news and listening to a new lore pod this week I've gotten the itch again.
Have never played any kind of pure mage/sorcerer build. Gonna give a shot, but I imagine it's gonna be rough sledding for the first ten or so hours.

Finally started Clair Obscur (thank you Gamepass) and so far so good. Not huge on turn based but I like the mechanics and boy this game is beautiful.

Easily my favorite game since Elden Ring. It's gonna win a million awards. Incredible story, perfect cast, soundtrack that's maybe the best ever, and combat that's probably going to influence turn based games going forward. The only quibble is that it's probably too easy to break the game. You can make it artificially harder on yourself by not using certain equipment or skills, but if you're the kind of player who wants to find everything, you're gonna end up with abilities that will let you one shot every single enemy, including bosses. The balance is all-time busted in this one.
But I'm very, very excited for the future of this studio. They hint a backstory/war in Clair Obscur that makes me think it could be a franchise.

Looks like a mashup of GTA, Cyberpunk and Just Cause rolled into one game. Could be fun.

Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
Beat the first boss in Clair Obscur. I think I might fall in love with this game. I'm not a TBS guy, so the first boss was just waxing me. I finally got dodge down, which was massive, but then I started to figure out the charges and order of moves to maximize our damage and such. Game is super fun for a TBS game. Loving it 3 hours in and feel like I've barely scratched the surface.

I'm not really sure how I feel about it to be honest. I get the vibe that the campaign will feel very flat. It seems to be a set of linear stories rather than an open world campaign, which I generally prefer anyways, but the way it's trying to sell you on that as well as player-made missions makes me feel like the campaign itself will disappoint.
Also the fact that like half the video is just the MC walking through bullets like it's nothing just feels so silly lol.

Does that not look like an AI developed fever dream? Looks completely soulless to me.

Yeah something just feels off about it to me and the gameplay they showed/the script the narrator followed definitely didn't help.

I've thought long and hard about whether Ex33, BG3, or Persona 5 has been "the game" of my adult life... and still not sure I have an answer.

24 hours later: I hate it. Couldn't possibly be more boring. I can't believe anyone would play a Soulsborne this way.

Two thoughts about the trailer

Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
The presentation stuff is cool the first time you play it. Not that I'll ever play as or against Virginia Tech, so *shrug*. I hope they do something to make the Dynasty(?) mode less boring.
Last year was their gimme. They could have put out anything and it would have been a success. Now I'd like to see some actual next-gen new ideas.

Players coming out of the bus in full uniform and gear is always funny to me.

If they could make a football sim with realistic defensive mechanics (corners that can’t come off their guy with their backs turned to the ball and jump through the WR and get the pick) Id play hundreds of hours. But no game has got that right yet.
