Getting the first one ugly wouldn't matter to anyone. Especially Dolan. He'll most likely get another shot if we did. He could most likely be here even if we lose this series.

I agree he isn't the best but, a title in NYC will catapult is legend to elite.

I dont disagree with you - I just think we are talking about two different things. You are right about the view youre discussing...
I'm just tired of wasting time in general or settling for less etc.

The Bulls fired Thibs and have not been out of the 1st round since. What is the guarantee the next coach will be much better than Thibs?

Mike Malone if he hasn't given up on coaching. He is only 53. Thibodeau is 67.

So Mike Malone has about 10-15 years left to coach for his NBA legacy.

Mike's getting paid by the Nuggets until the end of the 26-27 season, so he might wait a bit before taking a coaching job. It depends on how big that chip on his shoulder is.

I generally support Thibs and don’t believe he should be fired unless someone who’s clearly better (?) becomes available. That said, I know that I’ve been begging for Thibs to start Mitch and for Wright to replace Payne in the rotation. While I was frustrated with his stubbornness to adjust, I think we were all grateful that he finally saw the light. But no one is calling him a genius for doing what we’ve all been clamoring for that I’ve seen here.

He did this in preseason and maybe once during the season if I remember correctly.

Besides the minutes/short rotation thing, it feels like his offense is not fluid or creative. I feel another coach could bring ball movement and unlock the offense and get more guys involved. But I don't know who that coach is, that's the tricky part, choosing the right replacement

The good news is, we fans don't have to do the coaching search or even know who is available or the best fit.. ....There's millionaires in the front office getting paid to scout and interview potential coaching candidates that are completely off of our radar.

For example, Steve Mills wasn't a very good POBO for us...we wanted him out...but none of us had Leon Rose on our bingo card as being the replacement who would make us contenders and have us in the ECF right now.

We have to trust that the basketball guys up top are capable of continuing to make good decisions. But holding on to coach who can't get the job done, simply out of fear of the unknown, is not a way to make forward progress and reach the summit.

The Pacers run a tight offense. Probably the best I’ve seen this year. But most team run schemes and have options off those reads. You only have 24 seconds so there really isn’t a lot of time.

So far. But the Pacers are on fire. They won’t keep that up all game long.

Roster is flawed but the coach isn't right to maximize it. I'll leave it at that.

Barely plays bench against Pistons, double minutes against Celtics, 9\10 men rotations against Pacers. Common sense says it should be the other way around, u tighten the rotation the more u move up. Dude was afraid to get fired.

Forget about developing bench, he doesn't even develop the starters. Can someone explain why we gave all those assets for Bridges? Or why after spending all the game barely touching the ball, its he taking the shots in the final minutes. It's brunson, brunson, brunson, dude is exhausted.

Time to go. Plays the starters 45 minutes during the regular season and playoffs and then "you guys have to sprint back"... dude is clueless.

Thibs can take his autistic rotations somewhere else.

When I came to this team after the OG trade, the word was how Leon was saving his picks for the right big move, to go all in. But after a poor deadline trade with Detroit, the all in happened in the summer with Bridges and KAT. And hasn't worked out. The only hope is small tweaks to the roster, because that's all that's possible. And see if a different coach can change the style of offense, maximize the talent more

When you have shortcomings with players, you have defensive schemes, you run zone, you run different plays defensively.
The right coach can elevate you, but ours sinks us

I’ve never actually hated someone more than Thibs
From going back to the original starting 5, STILL playing hart + Mikal while deuce + shamet + delon just rot on the bench
I HATE YOU THIBS
You wasted so much of a year, a season, a chance

You refused to try anything new throughout the year, you refuse to develop players. You have no offensive scheme, if the first option isn’t there, you have no second or third option. So you ISO Brunson every game, game after game. You won’t even let the absolute engine of a player in KAT have a go. You have no clue of defensive schemes in this modern NBA.

Thibs you are the human remnant of a POS, I hope the day we lose, you are fired. You are a waste. A waste of a coach, a bum, unmarried, stupid and senile. Please leave the only team I love more than anything, you are a POS.
