As someone that has a business that benefits from not competing with the Packers, give me prime time games.

Definitely fair. As with all records that are set in the current era, the addition of extra games helps. Still incredibly impressive to even be in that conversation though

Re: Packers News, Transactions, Trade Talk - Jenkins Skipping Offseason Program
Last year, Jordan Love was one of 32 quarterbacks who dropped back to pass at least 300 times. According to Pro Football Focus, Love was plagued by the fourth-highest drop rate.
The receivers dropped the ball as if the pigskin were slathered in bacon grease and their hands coated in Cheez Whiz. Last season, 84 receivers were targeted at least 50 times. According to PFF, Allen Lazard had the highest drop rate at 17.8 percent. He was followed by Wicks at 17.0 percent and Reed at 15.4 percent. Doubs was 19th-highest at 9.8 percent. The only regular receiver who caught the ball well was Watson, who was a middle-of-the-pack 40th at 6.5 percent.
For the passing game to take flight, the receivers must catch the ball significantly better than they did last season.
“All those guys understand,” receivers coach Ryan Mahaffey said. “They’re competitive. As we’ve gone through, we have conversations about what we need to improve on. Those guys have an understanding that, ‘Hey, when my number’s called, I want to put myself in a position to be able to go out and help my team.’ They’re naturally competitive. They take a lot of ownership in that, and I think we’ve got an intrinsically motivated group.”
What about the rookies?
“They catch the ball great,” Vrable said.
According to PFF, there were 131 FBS-level, draft-eligible receivers who were targeted at least 50 times in 2024. Golden’s 6.5 drop percentage was right in the middle of the pack. Williams’ 11.8 percent was the 17th-highest, though moonlighting at running back probably played a
role.

^^^ IIRC, most of Wick's drops came earlier in the season, and later on he did better. It's a shame that Watson has been an injury magnet, as he seemed to cure some of his rookie drop issues.

Re: Packers News, Transactions, Trade Talk - Jenkins Skipping Offseason Program
The next 2 weeks there are a total of 6 OTA's (you can have up to 10 but they've only scheduled 6). Then comes mandatory mini camp June 10-12. It's going to be very interesting to see who's here for the voluntary workouts and who's here for the mandatory workouts. Referring to Elgton and Jaire.

10 names to know
They will be big deals in the 2025 season. Meet them now and get ahead of the curve.
Edgerrin Cooper, LB, Green Bay Packers
The lightbulb went on for Cooper last year, as he rose from sub-package player to 100% snap starter by season's end. From December on, I'm not sure there were five more impactful linebackers in all of football. Cooper is highly active against the run and a reliable tackler in space. He has the size and athletic ability to be a solid coverage man. After he got one All-Pro vote last season, I'd wager Cooper gets double-digit votes in 2025.
Elgton Jenkins, C, Green Bay Packers
Jenkins is one of the coolest players in the league. In six seasons, he has played at least 300 snaps at four of the five offensive line positions: both tackle spots, left guard and center. The film has been good everywhere, too -- absurd consistency. His last extensive experience at center was in 2020, but he's expected to fill that spot in 2025 after Josh Myers left for the Jets in free agency. Jenkins is in a contract dispute with the Packers right now, as he has two years left on his deal and reportedly wants his compensation to reflect his versatility. I agree with him. What a player.

Packers offer Jaire a restructure, also sounds like Alexander is on board with staying in Green Bay.

I was interested in kicking the tires on Joey Bosa but not at the $12 million the Bills gave him. And sure enough, he's injured and will miss all of the OTA's.

Unlike the NBA or baseball, it's rarely if ever a good idea to kick the tires on these old vets/distressed formerly great players. Football's too brutal of a sport and there's too much likelihood you can replace pretty much any of these dudes in the draft.

A completely facetious thought excercise: put them through a "vets combine". Just for a recent Packer example, I'd be curious to see how both Kevin King and Eric Stokes would have fared in the various speed trials following their spates of injury. Both guys must have dropped 5% or more in flat out speed and also in reaction time post-injury. They are hardly unique. Some guys mostly bounce back, but as you noted, so many are a shadow of their former peak ability.
