Would some team take a second or two to give him a 3yr33 or add a couple mil even, with only the first year guaranteed? A third string center and 2 seconds for 12-13 mil? So Mil can match a 15-16 mil player with him and Connaughton? Their 3(non Green) vet mins would take that number over 20 mil.. Keep stacking as high as you want, Kuz, Portis, etc..

You could give Sims a lot more if you wanted..

It’s a lot easier to Bogans Brook Lopez due to “byc”, but if Mil is trying to keep Giannis happy.. you probably keep Lopez even in a reduced role?

No actual deal suggested just a random idea

He’s definitely a 3rd string C, with some upside to possibly handle runs as a backup center. Essentially, if someone is fine with eating an expiring contract for the payment offered, then he’d be fine in that role, a la Jock Landale.

And I’m sure Sims would be ecstatic to get that Londale contract. Heck, Jock got multiple years out of it.

I see Jericho Sims in the same tier of Cs as Tony Bradley, Thomas Bryant or Orlando Robinson -- all guys who've spent most of their time on minimum contracts and/or in the GLeague since their rookie contracts ran out. They can play a bit and fill a role, but are very replaceable.,

Occasionally one of these discount Cs turn into something more -- 2 examples are Hartenstein and Zubac -- but for the most part signing one of these guys to more than a min contract is just a waste that turns inot a bad contract.

That was my thought on Sims as well.

But would be looking to play around the cap a lot worse than Jock did..

Though any bit of matching salary would help.

Oh, definitely agree. Like, every year, some of these guys are much better than others, and there’s some cycle to it. But mostly, they’re all the kind that you can’t assume that they’ll be any better any future year, or that there will be any consistency year over year. Like, Bryant popped this year for Indy in a limited role, and he’d be nice to have back, but Indy definitely shouldn’t offer him anything over a gtd vet minimum to keep him.

They’re kind of like the relief pitchers. There’s no rhyme or reason they rise and fall from year to year. Sometimes they’re a perfect fit for a specific system. But you shouldn’t be betting big money on them.

Am I wrong in thinking Jrue is going to be a sought after pieces this off-season and will return real, substantial and tangible value?

All the impact metrics still paint him as a Top 15-20 player in the NBA. He is the ultimate finishing touch to any title contender.

Teams like Minnesota, Memphis, Miami, Milwaukee, Denver, Cleveland, Dallas and Orlando should all show real interest.

He had the 8th highest LEBRON and VPM on the Celtics and he's earning $105m over next 3 seasons.

He looked like he fell off defensively while shooting poorly as a "pick his spot" option.

I think a team would be foolish to take him now.

Conley had a higher EPM at a third of Jrue's salary.

Just curious who would give positive value for Jeremy Sochan and if so what would it be?

My first thought is Brooklyn with 26 or 27, but I doubt they want to tie up 2026 cap space for the limited upside Sochan offers.

Charlotte at 33 or 34?

Would need to be fleshed out more to get all the salary working but generally how's the idea of #10+27 swap extinguished for Claxton and Cam to LA and Reaves to Houston

I still like Lakers flotsam and Knecht for Claxton. Don't love Reaves for Cam for them though.

Charlotte's rotation simply cannot handle any more bad offensive players who do nothing. I'd send one of those 2nds to offload Green for Sochan but that's kinda it

CJ McCollum, 2026 NOP/MIL 1st SWAP, Better of NOP/MIL 1st for Jalen Green

Who says no?

You think CJ McCollum, a great 1st and a good swap is the value of Jalen Green?

Like, what cant you people see, its the whole trade itself.

We know Dallas, Sac, Clippers and Bucks all are rumored to be interested. I think the Celtics want keep him as well if they could find a way to meet their financial goals without trading him.
I expect at the very least it won’t cost assets to move him for salary savings in 26/27 and beyond.

Is this basically correct.

If a team trades 2 players with for 1 player, who's expiring, then let that player walk they clear salary of that player they trade for right?

example; I was thinking of Gabe/Maxi for Vucevic. That way Lakers get Center they need for a season and clear rostor spot, at worse you can do a short 1+1 type of contract or let him walk and clear cap space of $20mil for 2026 free agency.

Knecht is only two years younger than Claxton and outside of a hot Early season stretch not good I don't see them doing that
