Between us tading Kuzma for Jaylen Brown and bringing back Jevon Carter, we are a sure thing for the ring next year

Those teams (Sacto and LAC) also have pieces we could use, so being the 3rd team in a trade would be something to explore as well. Bogdan, Norm Powell, Derrick Jones. All guys I'd look to flip Kuzma/Pat for. Sacto also had some past interest in Kuzma, so maybe you could actually get Keegan Murray without giving up much (of course we'd probably target DeRozan though).

Yes, we need to be facilitators more than we need to be making big moves.
Hopefully we can pounce on an underappreciated asset in the process

Cause all of them can get an asset back with Jrue or get rid of someone they dont want. How hard is that to understand?
Like the Clippers would probably trade Bogdan and Jones for Holiday/28
or Kings trade Monk/Val for Holiday/28

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
In talking about Kuzma.. he's the opposite of what the Celtics would want.. they go efficient.
In talking about keeping Brook/Portis... teams winning are playing fine undersized where everyone can switch, double and get back to their man. At this point Portis doesn't fit at all and Brook, who's more disruptive still than Portis, is also not what playoff teams are running with.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
Was there any truth to the Doc/Giannis stuff where Giannis will stay if Doc does or whatever?

We can lament that Bobby and Brook are no longer ideal modern big-men to have in your playoff rotation, but again, if you're just letting them walk in free agency, then I will absolutely question how serious you are about winning basketball games (and so should Giannis). You don't have to like it, but they're still quality, durable starters for an 82-game season. Needs to be less worrying about the "playoff rotation" in a year where we won't be competing for a championship anyways.

If four or five teams want Jrue Holiday, maybe it doesn't cost a pick. That seems reasonable. No one knows, but it stands to reason that if multiple teams actively want him as reported, they'll bid against one another just a bit. These articles say that the Mavs, Kings, and Clippers all really do want Holiday because they think he can help them.
On a related note, we're talking about the the Kings' front office and Nico Harrison here.

We might be still playing if we had Khris instead of Kuzma.
Correction: We might still be playing if we had Kuzma and he never got off the bench.
Maybe, but more likely, to win the series we needed 1 more contributor

I don't understand the logic you're imploring here. So you're saying that we want to extend multi-year for Portis/Brook so that next year we can win more games in a non-championship season?
Geez dude... I'd rather lose if that's the case. Get and play dudes that need a year of playing time to Develop like Sims. Why win a few extra games and get a worse pick next year just to be stuck with Portis and Brook plus another couple years older?

Jericho Sims will be 27 years old in October. This idea that any of these dudes on the roster outside of maybe Tyler Smith have any sort of untapped potential/development worth exploring is an even tougher sell than the "gap year" pitch. I don't see any sort of logic in rolling into next year with an absolutely barren front court rotation. Why? So Giannis can get beat to **** having to anchor the defense/rebounding in addition to his (likely) career high offensive usage?

Are you watching the playoffs? Pacers are flying around like a blur and any sloppy dribble is being taken and dunked the other way. We need to change half our team still to get faster and better.

Sims could still improve some at 27, but the main point is getting rotation players acclimated for the future. The Pacers weren't thrown together this year off the minimum contract scrap heap.
Size and speed wise: these playoff teams have all 2's and 3's basically running at you. Maybe a couple 3.5s and 4.5s but grandpa ball is over.. finished.. there's zero reasons to let Brook/Portis keep jogging around for another regular season just to get a few extra experience point wins for the regular season if we don't see them future playoff starters anymore. Find out if our young guys can play and give them some more young guys to compete with for minutes to find out. We need consistency, keep a group together and exit the grandpa ball paradigm.

As far as Giannis goes.. we either catch a magic carpet ride run with some KPJ/Giannis/Rollis/GTJ plus young guys juice... as he goes for a non-Dame MVP year (maybe his last year to try for an MVP). Or if that plan A isn't working, find an excuse to shut him down early and get into the lottery. As for minutes at the 4/5... you're going GA/Sims/Tyler/Kuz/AJJ barring acquisitions and trades... those guys have to play physical and get boards/cause misses down there.

There's no situation in which this team might still be playing lol. We got our asses handed to us for a reason.
Not being a second apron team may actually come in handy.

Brook Lopez became a completely different player at 29. Not out of the question.

It's extremely easy to come up with that pitch. Here it is: we're leaning into what worked and we're going to be right there as long as you're healthy. Here's the tape of the thing that worked. Look how well it works. It's going to continue to work because the type of player we need is exactly the type of player we've never had trouble recruiting. You're going to be surrounded by hungry, fearless dudes who can shoot the living **** out of the ball. We're going to have fun, we're going to be a new kind of team, and the league is going to be jealous of us again.
And then Horst will construct a team that has this starting lineup: Sexton, Kuz, Collins, Giannis, Portis…
If this is the group and Green, Rollins, KPJ and/or GTJ are on the roster then we've actually done ok. This we can sell.
My fear is that the roster going to look much, much worse than this.
Nope. In my scenario only Rollins is retained. They let KPJ and GTJ walk and they trade AJG to Utah (which I think is the dumbest idea possible but people on this board are legit suggesting that).

Yes...but before that season, Brook had averaged 19 and 7 for his career lol. Sims has averaged 2 and 4.
