I think at this point you have to just have a meeting with the players and ask them how they want to play. All of these variations of lineups
just confuse them even more. If I'm the coach- I would ask my players for their thoughts and based on the information they gave me- I would decided
the strategy.

what I like about this situation is- this Knick team has proven to play at their best when the majority gives them a 4% chance to win.

In some ways yes probably but, we definitely get worse defensively without Deuce and Wright is going to be 33 going on 34 next season... He could start falling off quickly.

Also we saw last season how Indiana picked the Brunson/DDV backcourt apart defensively and that was with Hartenstein backing them up. So you now remove Hartenstein and insert KAT and yeah... You're going to be even worse defensively even if DDV fights his azz off on that end.

I've said before but if the Knicks are looking for a smaller upgrade instead of a Giannis level one, then I would target Keon Ellis on Sacramento. He's become a really good shooter and is a plus POA defender stuck on a team with awful defenders all over the place. Think his game would really pop here next to Mikal and OG.

He will play Mikal, OG and Hart all 40 minutes each. It's his fall back, comfy pillow when his seat starts getting warm and right now it's burning hot.

Start: Wright on Hali, Brunson on Nemhard, Mikal on Neismith, OG on Siakam, KAT on Turner. Switch everything except on Hali... fight through the screens and make him take contested shots. Pick him up full court with Wright.

Bench: Hart, Deuce, Shamet, Mitch with a short leash on Hart.

Sub KAT out after 4-5 mins of play then bring him back in the 2nd quarter when JB is sitting.

Run the offense through KAT in the low post, even when Brunson is out there. When KAT is on the bench, use Mikal and OG in the post against Hali and Nemhard as often as possible. When the doubles come, and they will, find the open shooters.

Pound them on the boards and pound them in the paint. Always get back on defense and slow them down by picking them up full court. Slow the game to a grind like in game 3.

Thibs will do none of these things and we will lose.

The pain will be over soon, folks.

Just heard your call in on the KnicksFanTV podcast... great minds think alike! Why can't Thibs look at who is playing well and who isn't playing well in the first two quarters and then adjust minutes accordingly for the second? That was like game 7 and Thibs treated it like a typical regular season game against a top team (that we always lose).
