We're having difficulty finding places for PJ and Gaff due to their new deals. We're not paying Lebron $52M a year.

I don't want him even for free.

Luka-Reaves-Lebron at 150M/y is my dream.

[Mavs Film Room] Mavs Assistant GM Matt Riccardi on adding Cooper Flagg to this Mavs team with a self-imposed 3-year window: “It makes the window 20 years instead of 3.”

People in that front office must be brain dead. That's why i don't trust them to build another serious contender for years to come.

I think this opens up trade possibilities with LA now that they can't keep him. $70M for Luka, $52M for Lebron and $30M for Reaves limits all your next roster moves. That's 75% of the cap for just 3 players. They need to move Reaves. I think I'll take him for Gaff and call it a day. AR produces better numbers than CP3 or Lonzo IMO. Just get AR for Gaff and bring PJ back. No need to trade him.
Reeves has no business being a teams 1st to 3rd option if they intend to be successful. I hope the Lakers pay him $30m per year so he hurts their payroll.

I can't see anyone trading for Kyrie right now because of his injury.

This will be some weird ass team. 2 very injury prone and aging stars with a grandpa CP3 leading the way. Mixed with prime time role players and an 18yo rookie, potential superstar in the making.

This is either going to be a complete **** show or Nico will somehow luck into a great season. I can't see it any other way.

CP3 ring chasing with the Mavs is not something I had on my bingo card. Lebron might as well opt out and sign for the minimum to rep the old guard.

Anytime you can sign player like CP3 at the vet min, you take it and run.

Incredible read. Mavs CEO interview sum up.

https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1kxv4f5/townsend_patrick_dumont_phoned_him_about_45/

One of the things he said, Mavs apparently grew their fanbase from what it was before the trade, after they got the Nr1 pick. He also said, people are calling and apologizing for cancelling tickets. He is so full of ****.

He's a marketing guy and it's a clear marketing technique, like when you browse for an item and it says only 3 items left.

It's incredible how lucky the MAVS have been winning the lottery, in fact they have a surprisingly good young core... Flagg/PJ/Lively+Christie, imagine if they just did the right thing, trading AD (+Gafford/Martin) for prospects/assets and making an organic tank this year (just play the young guys) the future would be very hopeful.

If you trade AD, what is your plan on Irving?

Considering his age/injury and his impeccable behavior as a leader for the MAVS, I would personally keep him. Besides, what I propose is not a rebuild... extend it, let him recover 100% all year without pressure and play with the young players in what would be a developmental year, which would inevitably lead us to the top of the lottery in 2026 and from there, (without controlling our national teams) try to compete with KI recovered. If he respectfully asks to go out and play for a contender, help him... a class act with a legend, would help regain some credibility...

Fantasy offseason.

It's their plan from the beginning, they knew what will happen in the lottery and now they flex it.

I don't care about lucky or NBA rigged, the Luke trade was **** and the people who made it HAVE TO GO ASAP. stop.

I'd give both Kyrie and AD to Minnesota for them to win now as long they give us Ant back.

Ant is the perfect guy to pair with Flagg. And Ant is just 23 years old.

Wolves would want us to include a draft pick like the 2025 1st rounder.

Seriously, there is no imaginable way the Mavs could pair Flagg and Ant. It would take Kyrie/Flagg to even get the conversation started.

Dallas can add LAL 29 1st, and Mavs 31 1st, and Wolves would still laugh at it...

Yea not even remotely realistic. Wasnt Minny the other team Nico contacted about Luka, for ANt, and they said no to that

I think we should look to trade AD to Cha and get our '27 FRP back. Opens up a lot more possibilities. Maybe include 3 other teams to make it all gel together. The crux of it being

Dal get: Desmond Bane, DAl '27 FRP returned, Nurkic, Okogie, 2025 26th pick (via BKN)
Cha Gets: Anthony Davis, Caleb Martin, 2025 18th pick (via BKN)
Mem Gets: Miles Bridges, Jaden Hardy, 2025 #8 pick (via BKN)
BKN gets: 2025 #4 pick (via CHA)

We get a better fitting piece in Bane, a late FRP this year we can sue on a guy like Walter Clayton Jr, our 27 pick back, and get rid of both Caleb and Hardy; all in one swoop

I like Bane but I'd rather just deal directly with CHA for the #4 in this scenario. VJ/Flagg/Lively core is a very exciting team to build around.

Yea but I'd rather our pick in '27 back + Bane + a later pick this year if that were a possibility.
