I said it before but seems even more obvious to me now, You cannot watch Minnesota play and see how bad Conley is and not think that Holiday would be More needed on the Timberwolves than maybe any other team out there. He literally is a perfect fit.

They may have to find a way to dump some salary with Another team but they really should take part in a bidding war for Jrue.

Nobody but White will bring back much, imo…but I don’t blame BOS for trying the others first.

But after July 1, the kind of deal I put out there goes away…and, honestly, teams will have made most moves by then.

Pritchard is fantastic, but doesn’t make enough to solve anything
Brown is amazing, but that contract…and who has cap space to save BOS anything? Just BRK and they know they’re the only players.
Horford is an awesome Celtic, but his next stop is home, I imagine
Jrue is still really good but that contract length makes him a big risk
KP makes Isaac look reliable and that’s a lot of $$$ even just for a year

I’m not exactly sure how much salary BOS needs to shed to please the CPAs, but I think it will require more than a trim around the edges

Getting back expirings doesn’t save BOS any money next year or leave any mechanism or time to reboot for Tatum’s return and no one has incentive to send good cheaper guys for good older, more expensive guys….I’m honestly still uncertain about my proposal being allowed (24-25 salary matching if done before July 1) …but I haven’t seen anything to confirm it’s not.

White will bring back assets that we'll inevitably be looking to trade a summer from now when Tatum's back for a player exactly like Derrick White. It just doesn't make sense given age/production/contract to move him, he's a perfect fit.

Move off KP and Jrue and you can easily duck the aprons by just taking back less money. With follow-up deals paying teams to eat expirings with TPE's and/or exceptions we could even get below the tax line. In doing so we'd create some large TPE's of our own plus be able to aggregate salaries again, so could pivot next summer to trying to bring in another piece to go with new big three of Tatum/ Brown/ White using our likely lotto pick from next year plus our remaining future firsts.

The trades for Jrue and KP don't even need to be outstanding returns. You could get Gafford and Klay from Dallas for Jrue, turn around and flip KP and Klay to the Bulls for Vuc (Bulls eat Klay w/ TPE). Flip Vuc to Lakers for Maxi or Vincent and Lakers pay Wiz/Nets to eat the other one. You end up getting a decent expiring C to kick the tires on (Gafford) plus are below both aprons and only have to shed another $5-7m to get below the tax. Even if you had to kick a pick in to shed some of that money something like that seems totally viable.

And then you soft tank for a year and come back like above with an aim toward adding to Tatum/Brown/White, hopefully with the added benefit of a '26 lotto pick.

I can definitely see a route where we don't do that "soft tank" approach and instead of shaving off enough money to duck the tax we just move below the aprons for a year while still being competitive. In that scenario I can see them being interested in a guy like Isaac but even then not at the expense of White and not for a lottery ticket upside pick. Just too much at risk there with enough uncertainty already around the team. I think Brad locks away Tatum/White in a box for trade conversations unless we're talking Giannis.

Who doesn't love trades?
Stevens not making any deals is not doing his job.
It's exciting and excellent.
We need more of these so called trades.
Hauser, Holiday, Porzingis and Tillman, off the island!
Derrick White, we're keeping an eye on you.
Jalen Brown, you recover from your tear. They'll be plenty of
time to dump your exorbitant contract after next season.
Everyone dies, everyone gets traded...

And another.... would nbeed to be done in a couple of separate deals.

Jrue and Sam Hauser to Timberwolves---Jrue massively upgrades from Conley, brings championship winning to team. Can start beside Conley is wanted as well, hauser adds lethal shooting.

Tillman, Miller (Minny), Porzingis and a 2026 Lakers 1st to Hornets - get a floor spacing center that the coach really likes, makes a pretty dope duo with Ball.

Naz Reid and Josh Okogie to Lakers---adds a center who can space and rebound and a wing defender to take on the tough assignments.

Green and a Boston 2nd to Heat (into TPE)---adds a pick and a very tradeable contract. also a very serviceable player who can start right away for them.

McDaniels, Vanderbilt, Mark Williams and Knecht to Boston (29 million in savings) ---moves 2/5ths of starting lineup, and gets worse in the short term, but after a year and with Tatum coming back, should be able to pick up where left off. Tatum slides into SF with McDaniels and Vanderbilt being the wing defenders. Pritchard, Baylor and Dalton are all plug and play pieces off the bench who can get hot in a hurry and light up a gym. All takes pressure off of Brown and Tatum to be the go to options.

White/Pritchard/XXX
Knect/Scheierman/XXX
Brown/XXX/Walsh
McDaniels/Vanederbilt/XXX
Williams/Kornet/Queta

Draft and vet mins to cover the XXX spots (maybe Horford still for vet mentorship) until Tatum returns.

"The Boston Celtics are going to make trades..

They're definitely going to have a different roster next season"

Imagine getting paid millions of dollars to come up with this stuff.

Absolutely. He's a great fit there, especially if they make a play for KD

Well if they bring in KD as a stretch 4/5 they might as well send Naz Reid this way.

Actually KD/Jrue blows the doors off of their salary structure. Idk what else they move out besides Randle.

I could see Cleveland as a hypothetical spot for Jrue. Bigger defensive guard to pair with Mitchell.

Plus Cleveland likes to get a little wild and unpredictable on the trade market.

But then again Brad loves Jrue more than he loves his own son Gordon Hayward so there's that.

Giannis, White, Holiday, Scheierman, and (insert decent center here) even without Tatum would be a mid-50-win team in the East.
