An actual great set from Brondello.

Valkyries didn't have a game plan right there. Wasted what? 13 seconds dribbling around

Oh Cloud.

Not a true fan of either team, but would have loved to see the plucky expansion team pull off the big upset.

It's the world Champs with 3 All-WNBA defensive team candidates (even missing a 4th candidate).

They didn't have a plan, but I don't know what the plan would have been.

Anyway, such a fun game.

Ugly win for the Liberty, but an ugly win is still better than a good loss I guess. Fiebich has been below average this season but had the great closeout at the end of this game. Definitely Cloud's worst game. MJ is still playing too passive. KB is better in small doses and takes too many plays off.

Liberty with Cloud is such a difficult matchup for EVERYONE. Love the fit there.

For the Valkyries my biggest gripe in crunch time was the play where they burned so much time off the clock down 3 and called a timeout with 10 seconds left. They needed to make a decision on that play early on and didn't. Vanloo dribbled passed the 3point line and picked up her dribble.

I was puzzled to see that Angel Reese only played 25 minutes in a close game. Apparently, she was benched most of the second half. It wouldn't be the Sky without drama, I suppose.

Cardoso only got 26 minutes. E-Will and Onyenwere played a lot in the 3rd.

Cardoso, Onyenwere, and Bec Allen were the frontcourt to start the 4th when they got it back to even (after Dallas' big 3rd quarter when Arike went off).

Starting the last 5 minutes, it's tied. Cardoso, Angel and Bec Allen.
Marsh certainly not having a problem with Angel. He trusted her down the stretch in a close game.

Angel with a nice finish in transition and pass to Cardoso down the stretch.
Grabbed a huge rebound, then finished on a nice PNR with Atkins that gave them the lead for good with about a minute left.

Fantastic last possession for the team. Not ready to roast Marsh just yet.

1st 3 quarters of the Mercury game and the Dallas win, I feel better about the Sky. Don't think they'll make the Playoffs (competition is stiff), but I don't think they'll be a dumpster fire.

Sloot and Atkins looked good. As did Bec and Nurse.

It always comes back to the Cardoso and Angel of it all. Looks good sometimes. Cardoso was dominant for much of that game. They pass well together.

Love both of them. I'm still not convinced it makes sense for them to be long-term teammates. Both need to be playing alongside a stretch big. The point forward thing with Angel is fine. Love that kid and hope she keeps developing. But the best WNBA Angel we've seen is her gritting it out in the paint. I respect her trying to be a stretch 4 for the team, but that ain't her. Maybe someday, but not now.

More importantly...Liberty at Mystics tonight.

As always, against any team this side Minnesota, a Liberty game can be a curbstomping.

But maybe, just maybe. Mystics are frisky, and Liberty on a back-to-back on the road.

And all kinds of other bangers tonight with Seattle-Atlanta, Mercury-Lynx, and Plum/Hamby going back to Vegas.

An awesome night for stacking up those teams after the Liberty and Lynx.

All at the same time, so screw you if you'd like to watch them all.

And of course, only one game tomorrow, a rematch of bad teams at 8:00.

Love the W, but there's a better way here.

Almost certainly not going to happen against the Champs, but Kiki and Sonia still seem unfazed.

And we know Sykes ain't just going to bow down and kiss the ring.

For such a progressive league, having the three quarter time stat break sponsored by RoundUp is a bit strange with all the stories about the weed killer.
