First, don’t think that’s fair to paint all suns fans with the same brush. Second, I’m sure the majority of fans will jump through hoops on this board to rationalize a move their team made after the fact.

I didn't say all Suns posters. I said these same posters. I am aware we have Suns posters who don't misrepresent trade offers and who aren't asking for Giannis returns for non-Giannis. But we have multiple posters who are.

That’s true for every team but I get what you meant to say there. I think most suns fans OPs about a KD trade aren’t that far off from what is proposed here. Gambo reports that he expects a KD trade before the draft. That means they want a higher pick. They probably want some future draft capital and some rotation players in return. The quality of the future draft capital will depend on the player(s) they get back.

Just as we have posters from multiple other teams downplaying his value in order to convince everyone here on whatever subpar/crap offer they are putting forth is actually a great deal that various Suns fans should be excited to get. Not naming any names of course.....

Pick 20? Lol. His name is Jimmy Butler and is a great player now.

The Heat's FO was terrible in the Butler's negotiations but I don't care about it.

The Suns were getting Jimmy Butler, Jonathan Kuminga, FRPs, 2nds and swaps.

Yeah, I don't think you're being entirely fair here Chuck.

1. Referring to that pick as the 20th pick is downplaying it's value at the time of the trade. The pick in the Butler deal was a top 10 protected 2026/2025, unprotected 2027 pick. The Warriors were 11th in the West at the time the trade was made - it would have been entirely possible for that pick not to convert. It turned out to the 20th pick, but at the time of the trade it was obviously more valuable.

2. In your previous post you dismissed the trade package Suns fans have been using as a reference, whereas multiple reputable sources have been provided reporting the same trade independently from eachother. At this point, I think it's fair to say that there is more evidence suggesting the trade reported was accurate than to claim the contrary.

I've stated before as well that I don't think that KD will fetch 3 unprotected picks, but atleast those claiming this are basing this on reports of KD's value. Butler got traded for a top 10, potentially unprotected pick so in terms of pick value we can summarize the package the Suns reportedly turned down as: 1. a first rounder (2025/2026 top 10 protected, 2027 unprotected), 2. two more first rounders (protection unknown), 3. two second rounders.

Now I agree with you this doesn't equal three unprotected first rounders, however I do think it gives enough of a basis that I'd take someone arguing this more serious than those here making completely unfounded low ball claims (e.g. KD + 29 for moving up 15 spots in the draft on page 1). And, more importantly, completely dismissing the reports from Windhorst, Ramona, Gambo and Sidery which all reported essentially identical trades, while referring to the pick in the Butler trade as #20 isn't entirely fair either.
