Let's go easy on this Zion news. I'm a big believer in believe people when they tell you something happened. I'm also a big believer in innocent until guilt is established.

And I know on the GB this will quickly go two ways - - Execute Zion or this happened that long ago, she's just a money grabbing ****.

None of that is pertinent here and I will have no tolerance for any offensive posts. Stick to how this news potentially impacts the Pelicans. Your hot takes can go on the GB where your side will give you a bunch of and-1s you would be searching for.

Edit: Even the GB Mods killed discussion on this, so yeah stick to basketball please. They let anything and everything fly typically.

This accusation will have impact on the NOP summer, likely coloring any potential discussion of Zion trades. It will be interesting to watch the Pels response. Massive early test for the Dumars regime.

Despite sending Zion Williamson to be their representative at the 2025 NBA draft lottery, the New Orleans Pelicans aren't closing themselves off from any deals this summer.

Per Yahoo Sports' Kevin O'Connor, they have "no untouchables" and are "gauging the market" for everyone on their roster.

true or not, this tanks Zion value and handcuffs the Pelicans a little as it makes it impossible for them to trade their own picks to improve the team this year without knowing if he will be available and how much of a toll can this take on his performance on court. Hopefully this resolves for the better(meaning truth is discovered and the right person is punished) as soon as possible.

On this Zion thing - it's a civil case not criminal. So I am assuming that Zion will just eventually cut a check and make this go away. Guessing her lawyers already approached him and threatened to file if he did not pay. They must have asked for more that he was willing to pay so they filed. Really all this should do is cause Zion some embarrassment and $$$.

My only take on the Zion issue is it means he probably will not be traded this off-season

Which also goes back to my hot take that if Giannis is not traded... this will be a relatively tame off-season and not the star studded craziness that's being hyped

Outside of KD and like a Sabonis type, which stars switch teams if Giannis stays put?

I don't think moving into top 2 can be done with the prices of the 6 examples brought, it's a totally different equation.

The Bucks feel like a team that may want to remain as competitive as possible, even after a Giannis trade. Could Gobert be a target for Milwaukee, especially with Brook's free agency?

I don't disagree when it comes to the first pick. If Dallas was crazy enough (Nico & the Venetians) to consider moving the rights to Flagg, the starting point of the discussion should be what Orlando got for Webber; the third pick (Penny) + three unprotected FRPs. Given the Mavs recent history with trades I would expect them to go for a veteran, one (or more) who is at least an all-star level player + some draft capital. With the Jazz at 5, the first pick is the only one I'd want them to move up for--and be willing to move heaven and earth to make it happen--and I expect that they'd still come up short. I'm fine with them selecting at 5, fine trading down for value.

Harper would be an attractive move up for another team, but it would be costly.

Its Masai's last year of contract so i wont be surprised if he takes a risk to trade up... Can the pick be protected a little? Is this too much vs too little?
