We could’ve definitely used Shamet and Delon sooner. Outside of G1 against the Pistons, Payne has been absolutely putrid this playoffs. Could’ve cut into Hart’s minutes too. Glad it’s happening now, but it took having their back against the wall for Thibs to finally make adjustments.

Eh. Realistically, no coach is benching Payne right after he was crucial to us winning our first game of the postseason...especially after how effective he had been for us in the regular season. That game bought him at least that series and we didn't need either Payne or Wright in the Boston series.

Plus Wright looked like he needed time to settle in when he got to play in the regular season and has had a few plays in this series that show a lack of chemistry. Would that have been helped by replacing Payne after game 1 of that Detroit series more than just letting Wright continue to build chemistry in practice, or would that have just given Carlisle more tape to prepare?

I wouldn't have minded Shamet getting some minutes and suggested it a few times, even having some neutrals misrepresent me by claiming I was 'banking on Shamet to save us'...but again we didn't need to use him before now, which limited Carlisle's tape on him, so I can't get in too much of a fuss about Thibs not tipping his hand until he needed to put his cards on the table.

It's tough because we lost game 1 by a FT, if that game had been like game 2, then I'd be criticizing Thibs for not making the changes after game 1, but that game was so close that I can't blame him...even if it's something I thought we'd need to do before the series even started.

What was different about Delon’s chemistry with the team between Game 2 and Game 3 in this series? Or why not use Shamet to spell Mikal or Hart some minutes instead of playing them almost 40 minutes a game in previous series? This wasn’t a strategy to keep Carlisle from getting tape. This was a desperation move to see if something new would work. I’m happy Thibs made the adjustment, but can’t pretend it’s because he wanted to.

Nothing, which is why Wright was inserted after game 2 showed that we needed to adjust.

Why would he? The short rotation was working well until this series.

I'm not his therapist so I don't care about what Thibs wants to do. All I care about is that he keeps making the adjustments we need to make, when we need them.

Knicks weren't a pesky 7 seed trying to overcome 3-1. They have two of the final three at home and were generally considered better coming into the series. Felt like even at 3-1 they had a solid puncher's chance to pull it out. Now this win has put some pressure on the Pacers in Game 6.

Barclays was built using eminent domain. They kicked people out of their homes so a billionaire could have a stadium that no one goes to and loses money. It’s a horrible example of eminent domain abuse and sets a terrible precedent: the government can kick you out of your home so a billionaire can build an entertainment center.

I was confident that the Knicks will prevail before the series started, and still have the same confidence. I always considered the Knicks to be superior on paper, and if they start to click on the court the Pacers will not be able to stop them. The Knicks will get this done, and they will go to the NBA Finals. Two more wins to go for the Finals, six wins total for the NBA championship.
