Does sending 25 and Anthony to a 4th team fix it?

The Boston part makes this unreasonably complicated.

I sort of like Jrue back to Portland even though he wasn’t really there? Now they don’t want to tank.. No idea if he would rub off on their young guards or not, but you could hope so? And their defense gets even better obviously and that’s likely how the play-in dream chase will work out.

I think Cole needs to be dumped on a fourth team, but that would likely be the case either way. And then Boston likely wants to trim more money off of KCP’s deal..

It’s an interesting move and think the teams get enough of what they want to build on it..

Yeah I agree. I like the Boston part as a Boston fan but if the goal of the Magic is getting Simmons and the goal of the Blazers is adding some solid value for him, it does seem like Boston is not needed here.
I think Portland would have to want Holiday for this to make sense. Maybe they would?

Why would Minnesota trade down? They already pick at #31

Anthony should cost a 2nd or two to dump, not a 1st

I was using Richaun Holmes needing 24 to be dumped as the reference on 25 dumping Anthony

I love Simons to ORL but certainly not giving both frps.

POR likely has zero interest in Jrue's steady hand for 3 more years and over $100m at his age. He's good, but it just doesn't make sense for POR. KCP can provide a (few years younger too) steady vet influence for a lot less and just 2 guaranteed years.

BOS very happy but they should be adding some equity, not ask ORL to pay 2 frps.

Can KCP play any point guard? Also Orlando saves money in this trade.

No...that's really the only reason ORL fans (some, I guess) view his signing as non-sensical. He's a lesser Suggs and a greater Anthony Black (all 3 are really good, imo) but ORL still lacks a real playmaking PG.

Not sure why Boston is in this. If Orlando is willing to give up all of that for Simon: (they won’t), Portland just takes that deal and runs without taking Jrue’s contract.

Jrue holiday is the gift to Portland that keeps on giving. Can we flip him instantly? Rofl

Zero interest in Jrue to POR on that contract.

lol right….
To the clippers for Bogdonivic, DJJ and 30th pick.

What is Portland trying to do on the next couple years. I like their team. I am not sure if Holiday fits or not.

What do we like from BOS end? Ending up with KCP is bad for 26-27, imo. Reap is a nice story, but we only save $8.5m next year and are stuck with KCP, or need to use an asset to move him by next summer. I see it got edited, was it better for BOS originally?

Boston does save about 13 million in 26/27 and 37 million in 27/28.
There might be better offers for Jrue…IDK,
KCP is a bad contract yes but he is still a useful player.

Boston doesn’t belong here without chipping in extra assets. I think Jrue has more trade value than KCP even though he’s more expensive and signed a year longer because he’s a way better player still, but Portland isn’t a team that’s going to value that. Jrue is a bigger number on the cap sheet and that matters more to them because at that high a salary he’s unlikely to ever be flipped for anything overly positive if anything. They have no reason to involve Boston in this.
