Better Player Right Now: (Not including Playoffs)
Do not include Injuries or strictly just playoffs.
Which of these players right now give you the best odds to win a Championship regardless of roster, coaching or scheming.
I debated putting in KAT, Mobley, James Harden over Cade. These guys are all a tossup.

I would vote Brunson or Anthony Edwards. They were highest on my non existent player rankings.

Re: Better Player Right Now: (Not including Playoffs)
I think Steph was the best, but he had to be limited to low minutes, and once they went overboard, he got injured.
Tyrese has the highest highs, but he crashes into low lows.
I'd go with Ant, Brunson and Cade, gun to my head I pick Ant.

Steph was way better than i expected this year. Not saying he was the best here… i didn't see enough of the other players. I had just expected some decline from Steph, but the eye test was that was better than last season.
I think the medal games in the olympics really brought him to life.
Edwards had a pretty damn good year.

I think Davis is the best of this bunch overall, personally

Re: Better Player Right Now: (Not including Playoffs)
Anthony Davis should clear everyone here. Kawhi is a close second. After that it gets iffy. Probably prefer Halliburton as #3. Curry is well out of his prime. I want to say Edwards is better at this point.
Not so sure about Brunson. Terrible defender. Not an elite offense generator, and at his best when pounding the air out of the ball.

Swinging for the fences.

Who would you rather have as. Spurs fan
KD or Giannis but of course relative to what you would need to give up.
Giannis is going to cost astronomically more than KD at this point in their careers.

Re: Better Player Right Now: (Not including Playoffs)
are we taking health into account? If not I'll take AD, arguably the best playoff defender in the game and still very solid on offense. getting overlooked a lot now due to the Luka trade

Probably KD depending on the price because yeah Giannis would cost a ton

Depends on how you approach it. In any given game? What about factoring in health and the ability to log heavy minutes?

It's unfortunate that we didn't get to series like these go 7.

Has to be between Edwards, Hali, Brunson, AD, and Curry.
I'll drop AD for durability.
I'll drop Brunson for defense and versatility.
I'll drop Edwards for consistency and BBIQ.
And I'm gonna drop Curry for durability and inevitable decline (if the season were starting today, which is how I took the question).
That leaves me with Haliburton.
Sounds like high praise - and of course it is - but more than that, it drives home how far these guys are behind Jokic, Antetokounmpo, and Gilgeous-Alexander.
EDIT: I missed the injuries-not-included part. I never answer injuries-not-included projections anyway, as I consider durability to be an essential part of what determines a player's value (and something that isn't nearly as random as many seem to think), so I'll just leave my comment up.
[For similar reasons, I rarely get too involved in offense-only or defense-only discussions.]

I see you didn’t include Luka

Not meant as a knock. Just have to see him re-earn that status. Of course he can.
