Mobley still wins in my mind. As a defender I honestly see a lot of Bill Russell in him. Very similar body types, both supremely athletic with the necessary speed, agility and lateral quickness to guard smaller players on the perimeter, and just like Russell, Mobley keeps his blocked shots in play to start fast breaks instead of showboating and swatting it into the stands. Of course we’ll have to see how the rest of his career plays out, but as of right now I think it’s safe to predict that Mobley has the potential to be a top 10 all-time defensive player when it’s all said and done. He has all the tools to make that happen. Legitimately guards all 5 positions and provides elite rim protection without being overly foul prone.

To this specific season award question: Man, I really don't know where I'm going with it. This might be the toughest season I've ever done for this as-it-happens (rather than retroactively).

It would change most years. The weight would be 100% playoffs, 0% regular season, players on non-finals teams are ineligible.
