What’s another 20 years without championship?

Imagine crowning a beta non-all-star as your “cornerstone” :banghead:

If I’m a GM for another team, I’m clapping right now. In fact I’d encourage Ishbia to do that with Booker. All but guarantees the Suns will never be true contenders. Less other GMs have to worry about.
I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

I actually would love to give Booker pieces to be great. CP3, Twins, and Ayton were great pieces to build a team around. Add another veteran leader, and some depth. We win a ring. Ishbia did it wrong and gutted everyone for a superstar who is not vocal, and doesn't lead or make anyone around them better.

You can be talking about Booker as well as Durant -

Booker is pretty much like an inferior Lillard pre-Bucks trade

Both horrible franchise stars because they don't elevate their teams due to poor leadership.

Edit. Booker is just not it. Not your Batman kind of player. Ishiba is the worst owner. Miss Sarver.

So when is it a crime to have a really good Robin? Not his fault he’s the only hero in this comic book.

Some of the less exclusive names on this list should be players that we should aggressively target at a low cost for their defensive versatility and playmaking. Like if we could get Day'Ron Sharpe or Zhaire Williams in an under the radar type of trade, we could possibly really build something! :D

Watching Indiana go to the finals makes me furious!

We could have had Hali our PG of the future who is a much better floor leader than Booker ever was.

Indiana made a great trade for Siakam too. I remember hoping we would make that trade prior to all the Durant talks.

I've said this million times now, but passing up on Haliburton is really unforgivable.

People will point to the botched drafts with Bender, Josh Jackson, Ayton - but all those guys were highly rated and just didn't pan out.

Tyrese dropped unexpectedly to the end of the lottery, after being slotted to go in the first half of the lottery in all mocks, and came at a time when Suns fans had just endured years of Mike James, Canaan and Tyler Ulis as our starting PGs.

The perfect player fell into our laps unexpectedly and our front office (probably emboldened by the Cam Johnson gamble paying off) decided to get cute by drafting a guy projected to go in the second round.

Haliburton would have played under the tutelage of CP3 for a couple of years, could have gotten plenty of minutes as a combo guard, and could have then taken over the Helms. The suns would have been set for years to come with a young line up of Haliburton, Booker, Bridges, Johnson, Ayton.

Rockets Reportedly Expected to 'Look Into' Trading No. 10 Pick amid NBA Draft Rumors

Paul Kasabian
May 30, 2025

The Houston Rockets are reportedly looking into the possibility of trading the No. 10 pick in next month's NBA draft, according to Kevin O'Connor of Yahoo Sports.

"League sources expect the Rockets to look into trading this pick, whether it’s a trade way up, a trade out for a star, or a trade out for a group of future picks similar to what the Spurs received from the Timberwolves when they moved up for Rob Dillingham last year," he wrote.

The Rockets are on the rise after finishing second in the Western Conference standings with a 52-30 record. Houston took the Golden State Warriors to the limit before falling in a hard-fought seven-game first-round playoff series.

The question is whether the Rockets would be interested in adding a superstar to the mix to take a big step forward. The two obvious candidates are Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant, both of whom have been the subject of trade rumors.

As far as that goes, though, it appears Rockets general manager Rafael Stone isn't in a rush to make a blockbuster move.

"It's a very high bar to do a transaction that changes things," Stone told ESPN's Tim MacMahon on April 30. MacMahon added that the comment was "emphasizing the optimism that the improvement of the young players already on the roster can fuel the Rockets' continued ascension."

Houston ultimately has the option of letting the young core, with some veterans sprinkled around them, grow. Or they can try to accelerate the process by adding a big-time name, like Giannis or KD.

As far as where the team stood after the season ended, MacMahon noted: "Stone, Udoka and Patrick Fertitta -- are aligned in the ambition to allow this young group to grow together. Nevertheless, it is anticipated that there will be internal discussions at a minimum this summer regarding potential star pursuits in the trade market."

We'll see if anything there comes to fruition. If so, one can surmise that the No. 10 overall draft pick would have to be included in the deal. Regardless, though, it's clear Houston is open for business regarding the selection.

Well, everything is lining up fairly well for our interests in a KD trade. And Rafael Stone has loved KD like forever. Not only that, but KD and Udoka have a strong connection, lastly, KD always works out with the young Rockets core players.

The 10th pick in this year's draft would also go a pretty long way towards getting a jump on our needs and goals for adding talent too. Just give me a solid package of:

KD for Brooks/ Smith Jr/ Landale/ Whitmore/ Holiday/10th pick/ PHX 27' 1st.

Or

KD for Sheppard/ Eason/ Landale/ Whitmore/ 10th pick/ 17th pick.

To hell with you, James Jones. Look at Haliburton. He's about to be in a damned NBA Finals! We should have had him!

Don't think the Knicks have the pieces to go after Giannis, they ship sailed the moment they traded away all their picks.

KD on the otherhand, I definitely think there will be some phone calls made.
