It was 3-3 until 2000. Now it's 3-6.
The worst part is that this year's loss is by far the worst.
The last two losses (2013 and 2024) were understandable. In 2013, the vets had nothing left in the playoffs and JR Smith forgot how to play basketball in the second round. Melo couldn't carry that team by himself. And last year we basically had no healthy players left by the end of the series.
This year is different. Even with Thibs' poor coaching, we were the better team and we were healthy. That Game 1 loss may be the most humiliating loss in Knicks history and set the tone for the rest of the series.
It's great that we made it to the ECF and beat the Celtics, but I can't help but feeling that last year's team (when healthy) was better.
Last year's roster was beating teams by 20+ points every game.
No, last year the Knicks had a losing record against teams with W-L percentages of .500 or better. Same as this season.
I think the Knicks were fortunate to win the Boston series. This season the Knicks only won 39% of their games against teams with records of .500 or better. It's unrealistic to expect the Knicks to start beating winning teams when they have been losing to those teams all season.
I'm talking about before Julius' injury when all OG had to do was shoot 3 pointers and defend, because opposing teams were forced to double team Julius.

We have for both Giannis and Booker actually

In that context we might keep Mitch too

Towns for Giannis
Mikal, Hart and Achiuwa for Booker
Mitch / Hukporti / Tucker
Giannis / Finney Smith / vet
Anunoby / Shamet / Dadiet
Booker / McBride / McCullar
Brunson / Wright / Kolek
Strength and Honour!

We need a 6'5 point that can help Brunson with ball handling responsibilities like Nembhard.

I really didn't feel anything about this loss. Game 1 broke me anyway. I was just waiting for the snap

F Thibs use of KAT. Pathetic. But we already know the dude that's not sticking to the D plan is KAT. I'm exhausted just looking at it. I can imagine how the 4 other players out there feel.

Yeah I don't get the Giannis dream anyways even if we traded for Giannis, whatever it would cost us would leave us with major holes at the big man spot.. I don't think Brunson and Giannis and a skeleton roster is enough to do anything more than we did this year..

I would actually do this trade. I love KAT, love his modern game. I've said this a few times already, I've always thought putting effort on defense is half the battle. He does that but holy fck, he is dumb as rocks on the defensive end but then is Albert Einstein on the offense. I don't get it.
With KD, you have a bucket getter and will actually demand the ball from Brunson during crunch time. Too many times KAT is sitting somewhere and watching Brunson. KD is also a great help defender and perimeter defender. KD also has 2 years left on the deal compare to KAT.

Bridges is not it
It’s hard to determine this because he only to be a ball handler in spot situations.
It’s not hard to determine we’ve watching him all season. When he’s pressured he can’t do anything with the ball. He has a very weak handle, very loose with it. Not only that but he has no foot speed and he’s very weak. Avoids physicality and avoids the paint.

We probably aren’t but I do feel like Giannis would pick us over every team, if that means anything.

Yeah I would trade KAT but I'm just scared his knees are not going to hold up the way he plays/falls.

KAT
JB type of players are not hard to find.
Call Dallas and see if they want JB back for that 1st pick.
Hire Mike Malone and run it with Kolek aka Steve Nash.

I think Jalen would be the one going out for Giannis, since Giannis would be the PG on the Knicks.

I think you can be a championship team with those 2, I think it'd be best to stagger their minutes most of the game and we need to play KAT with a defensive C or PF in the playoffs to close out games

"But we already know dudes not sticking to the D plan" no we don't. KAT sucks in drop cover, you think he's doing it by choice? No. Thibs for some reason is forcing drop coverage on the team when last year we didn't do that crap.
That YouTuber 'Awful coaching ' used to praise the Knicks and Thibs for being one of the few teams last year not to do drop coverage in the playoffs, and now Thibs decides to run it this year for some reason.

Other than wanting Thibs fired, does anyone actually think after making it to the ECF plus Thibs relationship with the front office that he’s going to be replaced..
