This needs to printed on people's foreheads. Katz does not make **** up. It is exhausting to have to cover for this dude on D 30-40 minutes. People are obviously frustrated with KAT's D. It consistently destabilizes what they want to do on D.

Call up Miami and try to trade for KAT for Adebayo +

Feel like Bam and Brunson fit really well. He can pass the ball, he can cover on defense, he can inject toughness.

He didn’t call time. He could have easily protected the game

He isn’t the right guy

Phoenix on the other hand, cannot rebuild because of Booker and Beal's timeline. KAT for KD is doable here due to Phoenix unable to rebuild.

Getting KD and trading KAT basically closes our title window from 3 years to 1 year. If you think we can win it next year with KD then you do it. If not then it will set the franchise back a few years.

I would like to point out that KD has 2 years remaining rather than KAT's 4. If KD doesn't work, we will be under the salary cap (depends on Mikal's extension of course).

Mark Jackson had Steph on his side. FO's job is to make the tough decisions.

mpharris36 wrote:I'm more than OK with trading KAT. He was a really good player for us and it still was the right trade because he has way more trade value than anything we gave up.

You can however make a case its tough to win a chip with your two best players being bad defensive players. And Brunson is going nowhere.

Especially when your 2 best players play at the point of attack and the last line of defense.

There's a lot of blasphemy being written in digital ink tonight.

I think Dolan also had questions about Thibs rotation during Brunson and Hart's podcast but Dolan said he's now hands off.

Jalen is known for saying a lot of nothing during press conference/interviews.

Also, he might like Thibodeau because of his usage.

No over thinking, that’s it

But the Knicks were imo extremely "lucky" to beat Boston. Helped by Maxilla being at least as uninventive a coach as Things. Idk, with Tatum out perhaps the Knicks do have the best squad in the east. But a better coach sure would help.

Damn it's gonna be a very long off season on these boards. I think I'll come back once Thibs is fired or we've traded for someone worthwhile.

That’s why multi team deals exist tho…

I guess.. figured Phoenix is the best landing spot for KAT. Especially a relationship with Booker. A straight KAT for KD would be my target.

It could be, but KAT for KD is just not maximizing value. I think every NBA fan would agree KAT’s value is a lot higher.

If KD is the best offer we can get, then they gotta toss in those 29th + 52nd picks and Dunn. Maybe one of those future 1st’s they got coming in from other teams in 2027 or 2029, or both.

KD is 100 years old and PHX has proven to overpay like crazy.

Knicks need more athleticism, another guard that can handle the ball to take pressure off of brunson
