Indiana have two top 20 players and a lot of depth. But it comes down to the "type" of top 20 player. A healthy Hali is the type of guy a true contender needs, who can make his own shot and shoot from anywhere (as we saw at the end there). Pascal and Scottie may have been top 20 players, but not complementary in the least. And of course Turner is the perfect complement for Pascal at C.

I have no idea why OG escapes all criticism here. He makes pretty much the same money as fred but if you listened to most ppl on this board....there's no such thing as a bad OG game. I've come to the conclusion that fans simply don't attribute any responsibility to him in regards to wins and losses which is strange given that he's no longer on a rookie contract and how much money he makes.

All true, but give him his flowers. Tonight OG actually drew a blocking foul at a crucial moment. I've never seen that before. Undoubtedly because he wasn't wearing a Raptors jersey.

OF had the big shot in Game 3 against the Celts, but where was he the rest of that series? Where was he against the Sixers in 2022? He's just not that guy on offence. He's a great defender, but in this league great offence beats great defence. $40 mill/yr is an overpay, and it's helping to constrain the Knicks financially.

No, he was called spoiled and was disrespected by the the organization and this fanbase. He is a superstar, Barnes is not. Pascal Siakam HOF

He was spoiled and I agree so is Barnes. Pascal didn’t do sh*t for the Raptors after Lowry and Kawhi left.

Cause the team drafted an inferior player to play the same position, and refused to trade Barnes for another star when his value was high.

I dunno why mfers are comparing the toronto situation he left to the current situation in Indiana.
Google "Hind Rajab"

What a read. Same kind of bad takes that never change from the same losers complaining for 2 years.

Pascal is a different player in Indy. He makes his threes and is the best two way threat they have. It is in part Haliburton's aura and maybe even Rick Carlisle giving him enough freedom to do his thing without being over reliant on him.

That said, even NBA Group Chat just talked about what I have felt. The draft of Barnes ruined the Siakam, OG, FVV focused team. The obvious what if is if they draft Suggs and we actually did moves to sustain that core. It is obvious Pascal is all-NBA and they just needed another offensive engine to pair with him.

In 2025, we still are searching for that engine. Hopefully we either trade or draft one to fix this. Unless IQ has another level which we haven't seen.
