I also think the Pelicans are the best team to work with to get a three team trade done. They really want to get good because a new FO is in place. Also honestly outside of Zion and maybe Murphy no one on that roster should be off the table for a trade.

Knicks trade: KAT, McBride, Kolek, Padiet
Knicks get: Suggs, Herb Jones, Yves Missi,

Orlando trade: Suggs, three second rounders
Orlando get: McCollum, McBride, Indy 2026 1st round pick

Pelicans trade: Herb Jones, Yves Missi, 2026 Indy 1st round pick
Pelican get: KAT, Dadiet, Kolek

Knicks get under the cap and send the second draft picks and the NTPMLE to the Wolves for DDV

Knicks roster:
Brunson/Suggs
Suggs/DDV
Bridges/Hart
OG/Herb Jones
Mitch/Missi/Huk

Pelicans do it for KAT and to improve into a playoff team. Orlando does it to save money in 2027 when Paolo’s max kicks in and to get back court scoring. McCollum opens the floor for them now, and McBride is a defensive guard that can play a little point

Knicks get a back up PG/second ball handler, get 48 minutes of defense, and another defender in Herb Jones. DDV comes back to be a scorer. They could also instead of trading for DDV see if they could get Bobby Portis for a NTPMLE trade as a salary dump for the bucks

Knicks roster:
Brunson/Suggs
Suggs/Hart
Bridges/Herb Jones
OG/Portis
Mitch/Missi/Huk

Love your creative thinking wargamesx. I like it alot ....

Two questions:
1. Did you check that the salaries match up?
2. Is Suggs offensive game good enough. I feel like he is never going to be that good a shooter and a very inefficient scorer.

But why would the Clippers trade a cheaper, better shooter with the same effort on defense for Hart?

Hart is younger, locked into his contract a year longer and won’t take touches away from Harden and Kawhi. Maybe as insurance if Powell leaves in free agency.

I assume the same thing could be said about Hart on the Knicks but you still want to trade him for a reason. The Clippers have plenty of low volume role players. They were 3rd lowest in 3fga per 100 this year. Not sure why they would trade arguably their best shooter who they just acquired for Hart.

It doesnt have to be a 3 way but this would be a dream scenario to get Divo back as well:

3 way trade with Memphis, Minny, and New York:

Knicks outgoing:
KAT (53.1)
Bridges (24.9)
McBride (4.3)
PJ Tuck (3.5)
Kolek (2.2)
Dadiet (2.8)
3 2nd round picks

Memphis outgoing:
JJJ (23.4)
Bane (36.7)
Clarke (12.5)
Konchar (6.1)

Minny outgoing:
Donte DiVencenzo (11.9)
Jaylen Clark (2.1)

‐------‐------------------------

Knicks incoming:
JJJ (23.4)
Bane (36.7)
Donte DiVencenzo (11.9)

Memphis incoming:
KAT (53.1)
Bridges (24.9)
Jaylen Clark (2.1)
2 NY 2nd round pick

Minny incoming:
McBride (4.3)
PJ Tuck (3.5)
Kolek (2.2)
Dadiet (2.8)
NY 2nd round pick

JJJ/Mitch
OG/JJJ
Hart/OG
Bane/Divo
Brunson/Divo/Wright

"Bridges still has strong value and was misused here."

The Knicks overpaid for Bridges, and now they're stuck with him. Teams around the league can see the drop-off in him at age 28.

The Knicks aren’t getting back the high variance picks they owe Brooklyn or the volume of picks they sent out - but Bridges still has positive value.

They wont get 5 for Bridges but he is absolutely worth 3FRPs.

Agreed - but not all firsts are created equal.

The Pacers have up 2 mid to late 2024 1sts (weak draft in the same season) and a top 4 protected 26 1st for Siakiam

Bridges probably should have cost the Knicks both 24 1sts, both 25 1sts and a protected 27 1st.

Would y'all do Josh Hart for Clarkson and Kessler? Utah can then trade him elsewhere for few assets.

Utah wouldn't make that deal. I doubt they trade Kessler at all but they would want picks/prospects in return.

If Thibs stays, and Leon wants to trade KAT (possible, but unlikely), I think something like this makes more sense for all 3…

Gets us 5m under the 1st apron and keeps Minny below it.

Minny rolls out Conley/AntMan/KD/Randle/Naz

We got: Jalen/Donte/Mikal/OG/Rudy
Bench: Delon/Deuce/Shamet/Hart/Mitch

Could still use the MLE, and I think PHX needs to send over some picks to us… their 2025, 2027, and 2029… at least 2 of those 3

KAT to me is worth more than a Divo/Goebert combo....HOWEVER under Thibs Goebert might be better overall as a 5 than either IHart or Mitch. And it would keep Mitchs minutes down. So I don't hate this at all.

However I still greatly prefer a JJJ/Desmond Bane combo in terms of ideal roster construction to beat the Pacers, Celtics etc.

The salaries do match and I know it’s not perfect. I have a similar trade where RJ Barrett is the return over Suggs and it’s the same math with him too. Arguably RJ Barrett and Suggs are probably the level of big contract we take back where they are a legit player but aren’t a all star level

Yea I would prefer JJJ n Bane too, but I don’t think Memphis deals them at all.

One of the main things in the Gobert trade is the picks being replenished from the Mikal trade.

I think PHX trades them since they pair KAT n Booker and still have Beal, Grayson, Royce, Dunn, Martin, Richards, and some new prospects/recent picks from Minny in this deal.

I think Minnesota if they push for Durant would want him next to Gobert.

If the Knicks were to deal KAT to Phoenix they would much rather get Durant back then Gobert and DD.

I could see the argument for wanting KD over Gobert, Donte and 2-3 1st’s, but the latter also puts us 5m below the first apron… now we can spend the tax MLE, be part of a sign n trade, and have less financial restrictions on trades. Could add more depth or upgrade a starter or key bench player using a combo of these things.

Personally I would prefer a different route altogether, but I was just responding to strictly a PHX-MIN-NYK deal.

If PHX flies out KD and opts for Picks over significant talent back....Booker may want out.

I dont know though if the Philly rumor of the#3 and George is true for KD would that be enough for Booker to stick around. Cuz a Booker for KAT scenario would be pretty incredible too. Bridges then goes for JJJ maybe.

Pheonix’s trade eligible picks are the 29th pick in this years draft and the lessor of Utah/Min/Cle 2029. The 27 1st they own isn’t trade eligible since they owe a 26 1st to Charlotte in the Nurkic salary dump.

I can see the motivation for doing the KAT/Durant swap. The Rudy/DDV swap doesn’t make the team better.

I don't mind:

KAT to PHX
KD to MIN
NAZ (resigned) + DDV + Shannon Jr. + 1st rounder from PHX + 1st round swap from PHX to NYK

Increases our depth and restocks our trade assets a bit.

Mitch, OG, Bridges, DDV, Brunson with Naz, Deuce, Hart, etc. off the bench is pretty nasty.

What can we get for Hart straight up?
Can we get an expiring and a 1st round pick or two?

Everyone is currently making the obvious platitudinal remarks about being good/confidant with the same roster and coach for next season but when July rolls around with the start of free agency on June 30th is when we'll know if Leon, etc. really mean to stand pat (with marginal moves) or not.

Maybe Minny tosses a draft pick our way.

What about KAT to NOP for McCollum (expiring), Herb Jones (nice deal), and Murphy (nice deal)?

We could throw out Mitch, OG, Bridges, Murphy, and Brunson... nasty defensive team with plenty of shots to go around to the wings after Brunson eats.

Or KAT, Kolek, Dadiet to UTA for Lauri, Kessler, and Sexton?
