All-NBA talent KAT will look great in a Bucks uniform next season. You won't be seeing this kind of threads about Knicks' Giannis after the '26 Playoffs.

Is there a good market for KAT? I mean trading him and get better basketball value (at least fit wise) in return.

I don't think it is so much of an effort problem as it is a lack of mobility

KAT played a certain way on defense for 9 years and now in year 10 it’s a surprise?

What about Brunson?
His team was a -4.9 with him in the regular season, and a -7.7 with him in the playoffs. He's been a bigger issues with the Knicks all year, it seems hes getting more iso ball oriented all season, and his defense is abysmal.

Brunson x KAT is in the same boat as Luka x AR / Lebron ...you can have 1 of them on the floor at all times but not both because of how terrible they are defensively. For all the offensive upside, they will cost your team possessions at the same rate. In the playoffs, against good teams, it will be even magnified

I'm just not a Brunson fan with how he has played this season. Hes too small to make an impact defensively, and he ruins the team flow offensively. The Knicks looked horrible with Brunson in the playoffs, its comical KAT is getting all the blame.

Its definitely both of them - Kat was just getting the blame because of the repetition we witnessed of Hali initiating the high P&R and Kat getting lost every time

Re: Knicks players & coaches frustrated with KAT's defense
They should use KAT to get Giannis. KAT is great but Knicks cannot afford to have 2 liabilities on defense with him and Brunson. Indy exposed them and kept singling them out to attack. Even if Knicks beat Indy there was no way they was beating OKC, those guys play offense AND defense. Knicks already have Brunson as a liability on defense which they can live with, but having 2 guys and both star players, something has to give.

OG might be overpaid, but at least he lived up to his defensive rep...Bridges was ok on that end and mostly a complete no show offensively.
Bridges not playing as well as advertised is fair criticism but Kat is making almost double Mikail's salary & next year about 2.5 times at 61M!
ya KAT costs them 61mill but Bridges cost them 5 1st round picks

KAT was traded a year ago for Julius Randle. He's not now gonna be the centrepiece of a Giannis trade

Let's continue the discussion when he wins a regular season MVP or wins a Championship. Do you think the T Wolvea traded him because they agree with you?Bucks4005 wrote:HMFFL wrote:KAT is always the problem. I have been a critic of the big man for years. Brunson will need a big man that can bring it on both ends of the floor. Maybe KAT will change for the. Better.
Knicks need to keep coach and acquire Giannis.
KAT is always the problem? Again, he’s been a key cog on two teams in two separate conference that have made the conference finals the last 2 years. If he’s the problem, what does that make the players in the other 28 teams that didn’t make conference finals?

KAT is just that kind of player what when it clicks, he would be a HOF player… but then when it’s not, he’s just killing your team. He’s the Rasheed Wallace of this generation imo.
Rasheed is an excellent one.
Thank you

Giannis and KAT won't work.
Giannis would be all over KAT but in a much more aggressive way than how ANT was. Giannis won't have time to teach KAT how to have motor at all times. Kobe and Dwight Howard 2.0

I dont see why not. Def have to add some value but I'm saying Knicks are going to have to use KAT to get Giannis, maybe end him to a 3rd team and others go to the Bucks etc.. I'm just saying I think Brunson and KAT gives up too much on the defensive end, they can still run it back but I don't see them winning a chip unless one of them goes. Teams are too good to have 2 star liabilities on either end

Again, a year ago, the Wolves wanted to trade KAT. You dont think they did their due diligence? You think he's increased his value that much in a year (that wasnt even the best year of his career)?

Sheed was an excellent defender though

Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Never say never. If Giannis wants it and the league forces it, then KAT for Giannis it is. Just like Luka to Lakers for AD.

I wonder if they could pull off something like a Paul George for Oladipo/Sabonis type deal.
At the time, that package was thought of as awful, but they were two diamonds in the rough and just needed a change of scenery.
