Feels like we are losing ground in the KD race. Opted in Randle and McDaniels with young asset or two might be enough for the Suns.

 Its not a daily race

Its a good chance the decision on Durant has already been made by now.

The race meaning more teams are popping up that have interest and pieces to make something work.

I won’t be shocked to see KAT moved based on what I’m seeing today

Nah just lots of after playoff loss noise. It will die down.

I would be really excited about adding someone with Trey Murphy’s size and skillset. Adding him to Bam, Ware, etc would be an excellent base to build from, in my opinion.

If no Durant just be competitive and keep the cap sheet wide open in 2026. Getting someone like CJ McCollum for Rozier and JJJ will bring strong leadership into the lockerroom and another shot maker. It’s not sexy but it’s a solid move that keeps our cap flexibility open. Also makes so much more sense than the awful DeRozan fit with this roster.

Murphy is fun to talk about but will cost a good amount of assets we don’t have. He also only makes 25 mil. He’ll have a massive amount of suitors. Nobody even really knows if he’s available. Just some random bleacher report fan who threw out names saying “Heat wishlist”

I get it. “Heat wishlist” is accurate if by that they meant me lol. I really like Trey’s skillset. I’d rather make a deal for Trey than I would for someone like DeRozan, for example.

Not accurate at all. If that’s your take, I question if you actually watched the series.

It’s a no brainer. Just going to be hard to pry from the Pels unless it’s for a ransom. He’s on a cheap contract and still could be viewed as a building block for them

I watched Brunson get picked on harder than Herro and Duncan combined.

Wiltside wrote:There are many ways to build a successful team. Yes, drafting a star often is the way, but it’s not the only way.

Indians are in the Finals because they took risks. They traded Sabonis for Haliburton, and they traded for Siakam. They also traded Brogdon and got Nesmith as part of that deal in a throw in. A lot of their guys have been home grown draftees in Turner, Nembhard, Sheppard, Mathurin etc. None of those guys are stars.

Risk is probably what you could put it down to for all 4 conference finalists when you think about it. OKC traded a prime PG for a treasure trove, absolutely fluked SGA becoming as good as he has, and then drafted incredibly well. They also stunk it up for years in a ‘Process’ style rebuild. New York nailed the Brunson FA signing and he went from solid starter to star. They then took a big risk in all 3 deals involving Anunoby, Towns and Bridges. Minnesota took a risk sending multiple firsts for Gobert, and then dealing Towns for Randle and better depth.

Does anyone really feel like Indiana are worlds better than us? We can be right back in the hunt in the East, and it won’t take much. We just gotta either take some risks or draft well and have a little luck.

Both teams in the Finals traded their top players for unproven talent. Now theyre reaping the rewards.

Sabonis for Hali would be similar to Bam for Harper. Hali worked out. Harper may too.

Its all a gamble on talent reaching its peak. Sometimes that can happen with the home team. Others max out better elsewhere in a situation that fits them.

I believe Ive seen enough of our top 2 guys to understand their limitations. They need a top 10 guy. Pretty hard to add those guys, ever.

Might make sense to hit the reset. Id be surprised if Pat ever did that.

However, even he can see the writing on the wall with our current leaders.

Sold!! Can you make this happen DoM?

No you didn’t lol no one has been picked on more than Herro in these playoffs, Brunson definitely got picked on as well though. Him and towns, hard to win in the later stages with 2 massive defensive liabilities playing heavy minutes

Man, I don’t know if I want to see Wiggins on this team after these last few months. He totally sucked, looked like he was in a coma half the time and then bailed as soon as the season ended. He was a disaster.

Legit question: why is everyone so hung up on getting Durant? He could not take the Suns even to the playoff qualifier. “But he was hurt the final 7 games!” <— Some may argue. Well yes, but they were 4 games below .500 before he got hurt. What was the excuse then? If the Heat acquire a past his prime talent in Durant, then they will clearly have learned nothing after the Lowry debacle.
Proud embarrassment
