You better learn to read. KD to wolves is possible, just not for a Randle sign and trade

False. YOU better learn to read. Randle and Naz opting out means Wolves aren’t a second apron team and can sign and trade Randle to Suns for Durant, and they can combine salaries too. Connelly knew this during the season and knew that Durant trade option would be easier to execute in the offseason.

Thanks for exposing your ignorance and over-confidence here. Truly. Windhorst and I are right and you are simply wrong.

Suns cannot accept players in a sign and trade while they are still a 1st apron team, regardless whether wolves stop being a second apron team.

Ah, so I’ve already convinced you that Wolves won’t be a 2nd apron team at the time of this hypothetical trade. Good. Your argument is already 50% destroyed. That was easy!

Suns send out players too to get under the first apron. It can absolutely happen. Watch and see. I bookmarked this post in advance and only time will prove I’m right. Remember, I already convinced you you were wrong about Wolves being a second apron team. :)

It’s late, so I will give you this excuse. Even if Randle opts out but they use him as a sign and trade for KD , and somehow suns can shed so many salaries to go below the apron, the wolves become a second apron by just adding the KD trade, so they need to shed more salaries to stay below the second apron.
Sure the suns can trade Beal to bkn for a trade exception and they can do whatever they want, but getting rid of salaries is very difficult, just ask the Celtics. Suns are 23 mil over first apron according to sportrac

In theory everything is possible, and the trade was possible in theory in February too, but as windy pointed out, practice made it almost impossible.

I believe the Wolves are at 150 million if both Randle and Reid opt out, and the 2nd apron is at 207. So the Wolves should have room to add Durant and stay below the 2nd apron.

Thanks. That would work, and that means they only have to match durant’s salary, and they cannot take 1 cent more, unless they get under the first apron. I think it’s unrealistic that Randle will end up in a s&t heading to Phoenix because Phoenix needs to cut salaries too. This offseason is going to be crazy and not in a good way.

I am under the impression that cutting salaries will be very hard and expensive, and suns and wolves don’t really have picks to compensate teams with. Usually I would not see an issue in someone giving a tpe for free for a player like Grayson Allen or Royce O’Neal but this offseason you have porzingis and holiday on the block for almost free.

The best bet for wolves is for Randle to opt in and extend and that would make things easier, but does it even make sense for wolves to gut their team like that for KD?

Price for Durant isn’t as high as you think it is.
