There's no way they'll just come out say "We **** up so bad these last few years so now we're totally stuck and have no moves to make so we're running it back despite just having a terrible year with this exact roster".
What can they really say to keep the casuals excited?! I can't even imagine....
There’s been a complete lack of a coherent strategy since the Lowry signing. Some examples:
1) Re-signing Drob to a massive deal despite the fact that the previous season he regressed and disappeared in the playoffs.
2) Let Vincent/Strus leave, but later traded for Rozier and gave up a first too.
3) Pinning a lot of franchise hopes on a Dipo recovery after severe injury.
4) Not trading Butler in the 2024 offseason when he was out for the playoffs the season prior.
5) Desperation trade for Wiggins after realizing Butler was not going to yield on getting one last massive paycheck (though granted, I think Butler fading in the playoffs showed the Heat made the right call not extending him.)
Mitchell, Jovic, and Ware could end up being good additions, but it’s far too early to tell and none of them are going to be that player the Heat need to push the team to the next level. Riley really shoukd hold his advisors accountable, the Heat have dug themselves into a pretty deep hole.
