Predict the 2025 NBA Finals MVP

Post#1 » by Clav » Mon Jun 2, 2025 1:31 pm

Going into the Finals we generally expect one player to win this prestigious award, but it doesn't always play out that way, case in point for Jaylen Brown last year...

So, before the Finals begin, who do you predict to win NBA Finals MVP?

Poll closes in 4 days.

Shai. OKC is not only a great team, but in terms of roster construction they're also perfect for Shai to rack up individual awards.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder): -550
Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers): +700
Jalen Williams (Oklahoma City Thunder): +3300
Pascal Siakam (Indiana Pacers): +2200
Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City Thunder): +7500

Everyone else is even more of a long shot.

SGA is the safe bet. If OKC wins the series, I would say it's about a 90% chance he wins MVP.

As an outside chance, I could see myself betting ten bucks or so on Caruso. Let's say SGA has a rough shooting/scoring series, Williams and Chet are good, but not great, but Caruso completely shuts down Indiana and hits a few important threes to average like 13 points on 50/50/80 shooting with one of the best defensive series of all time. Likely? No. Impossible? We're talking about the Bald Mamba here, so let's show some respect.

Shai feels like the best bet here if OKC wins.

But JDub could go nuclear and get it instead. FMVP is kind of funny like that.

On the Indy side, Hali with Siakam potential

Haliburton has the most value. So if you think the Pacers have a shot, might as well put a li’l bit of a bet on him, turn your $100 to $600— not bad at all.

You know this question made me realize how consistency is underrated as a skill and how utterly elite Shai is at it. I just can’t imagine him not averaging something like 31/6/5 on good percentages in this series

Kind of crazy that the ECF MVP is +2200, no????!??!?!

I mean in a vaccum. Not in Siakam's case, per se.

If you want to go for the absolute most value, I'd say go for Siakam.

The style of D OKC plays, their first priority will be limiting Haliburton. Star guards rarely go off against OKC due to their personnel. Siakam I can see having a huge series though. A very rough comparison, but he's like the consistent version of Julius Randle.

So if the Pacers pull off the upset, I'd say Siakam has played one hell of a series. That one is good value to me.

SGA seems like the easy choice until the Pacers show they can stop him.

Shai is -550 to win Finals MVP. That's just plain hilarious, and probably a good price.

Caruso, the Haliburton stopper. He'll stop Siakam too.

That's because they're nice guys and still want OKC to win something.

gimme that caruso odd i'll take it

these haliburton odds are terrible. i have him with a worse chance than chet.

i like him but he's set to have one of those offseasons where people will pick on him a lot as overrated. he's getting blanketed.
