I remember that, he called Thibs the goat defensive coach. Ihart is the star of the video.

IHart sucked in the playoffs last year

Yeah it sucks. But on the bright side, the last 3 teams to make it to the ecf got to the finals the next season. So next year might be ours :)

F*ck the Pacers.

I didn't post because this is sickening.

Sure, it's great the Knicks aren't a perennial laughingstock anymore, but this feels like fast reverse to the mid 90's, where the Knicks were always half a player short:

PG wasn't quite good enough with past prime Harper or Childs or Ward
or
SF wasn't quite good enough with not quite prime X-Man, or Smith out of position, or love Mase, but was he really a SF? Or reduced LJ.
or
Oak was great at rebounding and defense, but limited on offense.

Tired of not having a complete team.

And this is after dealing 5 picks and two major assets in Randle and Divo.

And it's the F*CKING PACERS.

It's about enough to make me want to quit NBA fandom.

Knicks aren't sniffing the ECF next year, not without either a coaching change, lineup changes (yeah right, how?) or both.

Oh well.

Advanced Mediocrity, Hello My Old Friend.

Plenty of Knick fans, but didn’t see any others flying solo like this. 99% of fans were cool, and the other 1% were easy enough to avoid/STFU since I’m a bit of a larger, obviously crazier dude.

I had an extra ticket and invited multiple friends but nobody else has the freedom or insanity to do something like this last minute.

You look marvelous!

And Hart is some people's on here favorite player, but really, he has to be gone from the starting lineup.

Knicks are featuring 3 guys in OG, Hart and Mikal who aren't complete offensive players. That's one too many in today's NBA.

Do I have any idea how they fix that? Not a clue. This is the truly difficult thing this FO has to solve.

That and improve the f*cking bench already.

really nobody talks about the fact, that we don't have a single great 3 point shooter on the wings. this is crazy in 2025.

Last year DiVincenzo shot 46% from 3 vs. the Pacers. That's the big difference between the two series.

defense and rebounding would be huge issues especially in the playoffs with that lineup.

Probably. But it could be a sick offensive lineup. Similar to the beginning of the year when Hart was hitting 3s.

Divo shooting would help but he also had a -9.2 NET rating last year vs the pacers mainly because he is a really bad defender. Gambles a lot and pacers absolutely abuse that.

Having him and Brunson works offensively but will get picked on defensively and you have no rim protection to help out. Divo is a bench piece because of his limitations defensively.

He's definitely not worse than last year. He has a team full of defenders. Their shortest starter is Dortz at 6'4. That's why we need Brunson next to someone 6'6 and above. Hart should be on the bench

He’s good, but after all, he’s a product of his system. Someone said we lost talent when we lost him and added Bridges. What a ridiculous take … Bridges is twice the player Hartenstein is.

Harts the obvious choice to replace, but how?
He's too short for PF, even though he rebounds, and he doesn't shoot well enough for a SG or SF

I could give a f*ck about his rebounding and playmaking anymore.

How are we ever going to reach the Finals with allowing wide open kick out 3s, wide open transition dunks (Pacers had 5 baskets within 3-4 secs off our made basket in G6) ??

It's one thing to contest their shots and they still made them, but most of their baskets on critical runs were wide open. Thomas frickin Bryant had 3 wide open 3s, and I bet he won't even get a shot off vs the Thunder. Their team had no pressure whatsoever about having to make shots because if they missed they knew they're gonna plenty more/ abundance of wide open shots the rest of the game/ series.

No deep playoffs runs are ever guaranteed, the 94-95 Magic went to the Finals and they were never able to do it again. Even the Warriors were beaten by the Cavs, and the 80s Celtics by the Lakers or vice versa. If being in the ECF (with a possibly one in a lifetime chance to make the Finals and possibly win a chip) didn't make the team to play its best honest defense to AT LEAST BE COMPETITIVE DEFENSIVELY/ ENSURING NO WIDE OPEN SHOTS AND CONTEST SHOTS then nothing will.

And somehow we're supposed to keep Thibs and all of a sudden these defensive problems will magically disappear next season? The same defensive problems since the Thunder shot us out of their gym in Jan? The same defensive problems that persisted all season and remained all the way up to the most important games that were ECF... somehow next season would be different... WOW

If Thibs missed all those free throws or threw the ball away, time and time again, in that game 6. Then yes I agree wholeheartedly but the Team fked up. Like I said, those top team have the #1 key ingredient for success and that is cohesion.

We have to give this another run and if we don't reach the next level then yes changes should be made.

Before Thibs, when have we had a playoff run like this?

Ok but is there any way Thibs plays more guys next season, and cuts starters minutes. Kolek Dadiet and Huk will be second year, will they get in the rotation? Will he use guys like Wright and Shamet more after their good showing in the playoffs? There's two main complaints about Thibs, his schemes and his minutes distribution. If he would just change the latter it would help, by keeping starters fresher and getting more young guys developed and ready when needed. But is there any evidence he'll ever change?

You're right, I don't, who knows?

My glimmer of hope is that Thibs witnessed how the 2nd unit was actually quite good in these playoffs.

Yeah I hope he at least saw that or is made to see it, and comes back with a new approach to using the bench more. But then I still have no hope he'll change his schemes, make the offense more creative and flowing with fewer isos and more ball movement. And I don't think he's the type of head coach to bring in a modern offensive guru as assistant and turn the offensive reins over to him
