if the Kings are just blowing it all up and moving Sabonis/Monk/DeRozan after this, I don't hate it, but I think the inclusion of LaVine in the Fox trade is so that the Kings can keep trying to move forward. Lillard being out all of next season and then coming back as a 36-year-old with one Achilles tendon is hardly interesting

Kings says no here given their reluctance to tank.
Bucks i can see why they do this but dont think its a good use of their last movable 1st.
Portland should do this

I don't think Lavine adds enough wins to Sacramento this year, where they are substantially worse. Lillard comes back and, if not this year, is probably a LaVine-level player in 2026-2027.

No reason to pay the 1st...
Grant is a terrible deal of 100+/3, Blazers should take Lillard, for Grant+an expiring, and reset their books in 27.
PatC and Kuzma for Lavine is close...
Defense wins draft lotteries!

Portland fans despise a Lillard return on this board.

Doesn't mean they should get to reduce his cap hit for free, they are stealing value by getting smaller contractd for his contract.

This return for Grant is still a yes for me for Portland.

They did even when I proposed it literally hours before he got hurt. :D

But I strongly disagree with them on that. I think a deal that turns Grant into Dame is a win for them on multiple levels. Strongly disagree he holds back Scoot in any way. The issue is Scoot isn't very good, not Dame coming back.

I read this title and my first thought was his plan involves signing Mac McClung and I got so sad for the Bucks. Because I can't think dunk contest any longer without thinking about the best guy since Vince.

But this is the kind of deal the Bucks should be looking for if they retain Giannis. You have to take some gambles and some warts. But LaVine can absolutely score and shoot and you hope Grant can be an average NBA player again playing off a superstar again.

But will you love it when Billups plays Kuzma minutes that should go to Toumani and Deni? At least he already figured out Jerami should be on the bench. You’re giving him another chance to be wrong here.

It's still worth it for Portland, we can address rotation issues internally if necessary but worrying about a coach not being able to do his job is not a reason for the GM to not do his. Although I think even Billups will understand Kuzma should come off the bench.

POR takes on one of the biggest dummies in the league.

Kuzma and Grant suck balls at this point, but at least Kuzma's contract is a year shorter, significantly less against the cap and actually gets smaller next year. Portland has to pay something. No get out of jail free cards.

They could always just sign Mac McClung to a vet min deal.

Nah.

Have to hope the Grant can recoup some value with better play next year.

Not willing to add much to dump him.

I mean its obvious the theory is the Bucks would believe Grant offers them more than Kuzma. They could be wrong, but they can't really just run it back with Kuz and injured Dame and think well this will keep Giannis happy.

Grant had a bad year. Kuzma was worse and is one of the most selfish players in the league to boot. I'd 100% gamble on that swap as the Bucks.
