I'd probably still keep the pick. But I don't see the point of the hypothetical. Why couldn't the Wizards consolidate or trade for a future pick?
I assume all attempts to consolidate picks to move up aren't successful. Yes, they could also attempt to trade the 26th pick for a future pick but there is a chance you will just be offered another highly protected pick and some random 2nds.
The funny thing is I could actually see the Nets having no issue trading one of their late firsts in this draft where they have 5 picks in the first 36 for the 2026 protected Wizards pick but for some reason it seems you think there is a huge gap in value.
