Suns were 33-29 when KD played this year, 3-17 when he didn’t. When KD and Booker played without Beal the Suns had a win rate comparable to the elites in the league. With KD in the court and Booker/Beal off the Suns had a +9 net rating, if you filter it down to games they all 3 actually played in its +22. Those are elite numbers.

Elite numbers in a limited amount of games with another season of wear and tear coming up at the twilight of his career. I am not denying his contribution, but what’s he gonna bring to the Heat that gets them a championship? They just got rid of Yimmy who wanted way too much money for too few games. Durant would not be much different than Yimmy a year ago. Time to reset the team. Not pin slim championship hopes on a fading star.

I want us to end the next season with :

    top 5 pick
    Rested healthy Bam
Herro after a ton of on ball reps
Jovic after a ton of on ball reps
    Ware after 36+ minutes per
    Mitchell after starting 80 games
Jamie getting his confidence back and his value up
Keshad becoming a regular rotation guy
Larson becoming a regular rotation guy
Try to flip Wiggins/Rozier/Duncan for even worst contracts and add assets in the process - mainly extra picks.

Depending on how players develop, the draft, stars becoming available - we either repeat the process for another season or try to makes moves and contend in 2026-2027.

I like the plan. Develop the young talent, gain additional assets, and then wait for opportunities from teams looking to part with star talent. Why didn’t this start a year ago?

Figured the lack of money around the league would lead to this, nice.

That’s what i’ve been saying. There’s barely any teams with cap space or the non tax payer MLE. And if they do have it they have bigger fish to fry. I think Mitchell’s deal will start off even lower then 12 with gradual increases. Every dollar counts this year. Next year it doesn’t matter.

Not gonna lie… this would be a dream of a route. Collect picks, take back depreciated assets we could maybe rejuvenate, and focus on building the current youth…. Biding our time until we can put in a healthy offer for a player like Ant (or whomever) down the road.

Hard to win it all with 1 major piece being a massive defensive liability, let alone 2 with him and Brunson. People will understand the importance of defense one of these days

It'll fade as the reg season approaches and the peak of devaluing defensive impact and versatility will come midseason next season, like clockwork.

I still feel there is a path to get Anthony Davis

PG: Mitchell
SG: Herro
PF: Davis
Ce: Adebayo

Is a finals team next season

Defensively, an AD/Bam front court is basketball heaven. Opposing offenses would get nothing and like it.

Try to add someone like Herb Jones to that, and Spo might go into shock dreaming of the defensive possibilities.

This is the same guy who's been trying to pair Trae Young with Herro? Lol. I don't see most of his posts unless quoted, so I'm responding here. Sorry, greg!

You’re upset I critiqued Riley, you’ll get over it but I couldn’t imagine being so soft personally.

I’m trading Herro if I get Trae by the way but sure if I had my choice I’d field a roster of 15 guys who play both sides of the ball.

Good. I hope he is fighting for the starting spot too. No reason for us to just place him as a back up if we dont have any other options yet

More likely scenario might be to trade Bam + picks to Dallas for their 2025 1st. If Nico is to be believed in his reasoning for the Luka deal, they should be all over this deal.

3 years 8 mil per season is what I would shoot for we will be bidding with ourselves
