turning down Jokic for Flagg would be worse than trading Luka for AD

There is more value in drafting a tier 1 prospect and growing with him than a player of Jokic age. The odds that Flagg reach Jokic status are not good but I’d still rather have a home grown 18 year old and growing with him the next 15+ years. SGA is young enough that I’d rather have him.

Until Flagg forces his way off your team to play with the corpse of LeBron. A player staying for 15 years is rare. Injuries happen more often to defense first players.

Flagg might be a good player, great player or just an average player. It will take a few years to find out. Chances of reaching Jokic level is >0 <.00001

I would take sga too.

Sending Flagg to an in state rival to team up with Wemby is a legitimately crazy idea

Saw these. Thought they were pretty crappy.

The distance between Flagg and Harper feels a lot bigger than Webber and Penny despite the 1 pick extra distance (stupid Sixers).

But it's still a risk, because you're relying on AD/Kyrie to stay healthy.

The most prudent thing is probably to keep Flagg. If he somehow busts, it is what it is.

It might’ve been an interesting yolo move going all in if Kyrie didn’t tear his ACL. But he did tear it.

Im not trading him if im Mavs even if Mavs are like projected top3-4 in the west.
Im not trading that kinda potencial with this new CBA where u pretty much have 2-3 season to win unless you are OKC who has more years then others

All of these offers are god-awful but the Spurs deal is the worst one ihmo.
It doesn't make sense to downgrade from Flagg to Harper for just a late lotto 1st and a future pick.

Flagg has the potential to be a superstar.. plus he is white and american -- He could be the best white american player since who.. Bird?
Huge marketing/merchandise money for years to come.

I would only trade him for Wemby, SGA, Luka or Jokic.. maybe Giannis..

That would be very interesting if Dallas does facilitate a trade, though.

Celtics traded down from #1 to get McHale and Parish.

They also traded down from #1 to get Tatum.

There also have been cases when picks have been traded that turned out to be #1. That's how the Lakers got Magic. I forget whether they got Worthy that way also, or if he was actually #2. Cavs got one of their many #1s that way; I think it was Kyrie.

For that matter, it's also the way the Celtics got the picks they traded down to #3 from. :D

The only other one I can think of is in 2018 the Suns trading the #1 pick for #3 (Luka Doncic) and a future pick which turned out to be Evan Mobley.

The lesson here is, if the Celtics have the #1 pick and call you to trade down...don't pick up the phone.

Castle
#2
#14
Hawks ‘27 1st

Plus the picks swaps mentioned and getting their own pick back from the Spurs would be hard to turn down if I’m the Mavs.

I can't imagine what Dallas fans would do if Dallas traded Flagg for Harper + picks. :noway:

It's pointless. He knows the Niko mistake was about defense so he has Dallas trading one of the best defensive prospects in a long time for a poor defender. And why does Dallas do this? Oh because its great for the Spurs so he invents this love for Harper lol.

What the hell are you talking about? I literally said I'm fairly confident they'll take Flagg. Quit being so presumptuous all the time. My point is the Mavs doing something crazy wouldn't shock me after they traded Luka. I guarantee if someone posted a Luka for AD thread in the TnT fourn you would have said it's ridiculous and there was no way it'd ever happen but look where we are. You don't need to make up nonsense about me "inventing love for Harper" :-?

For the record I would personally only consider it if Castle was added to the list of draft picks the Mavs would get from SA. Even though I’m likely still sticking for Flagg.

Your own words -- it wouldn't shock me if they though Harper was a better fit.

Based on what? Nothing. You are just using the Luka trade to justify it. But the Luka trade shows us the opposite -- he valued defense over offense. so why again would he take the lessor prospect who doesn't play defense?

I mean your every post is Spurs-centric. But you want us to all pretend this is your honest take about Dallas and not because of how amazing it would be for the Spurs?

Okay cool. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the Spurs being the team involved. :D
