I know most here are stoked. But Im a lil leary about the change. We were an insane bounce from a game 7 ecf game at home with thibs. But I do think thibs shtick of inspiration has a shelf life and was prolly expired.
You're not soft for having empathy for Tom, Guano. I feel bad for him because this job was everything to him.
Yeah he's owed 30mil but man when you lose something you love, it can destroy you. I hope he will be alright mentally.

what about vs indy in the playoffs ?
We made 10 per game this season vs them, 12 per game last season.
Which brings us back to the bench too, because Shamet only played 53 minutes, yet he's tied for 4th with Bridges in made threes against them. He was 7-13 from three, maybe that could have helped us with the shooting.
Anyway, he's gone and he's not coming back to coach so I don't even need to argue this much now, the front office agreed with me
i actually don't care. i just think the roster was a much bigger problem. we'll see if they do anything about that. running it back will produce a similar result to me.

gotta think he was aware and at least understanding.
JayTWill wrote:He is known as a defensive coach but the team's 3 highest paid players and highest minute players in Randle, RJ and Brunson gave very little effort on defense.

I'm feeling similar ways tbh. Thibs has NY spirit even though there may be room for improvement.
Wish we just made the Finals this year, then the story may be different
NY SPIRIT??? where. How. He only watched the game. Never fought for his team. Only blamed the players. No accountability. I guess we were watching two different guys

It’s the dood that coached us last year, Johnnie Bryant, or the coach that coached them at nova, jay wright
we gon see.
i don't know what to think right now.
He lost this series in game 2 of the pacers series, the meltdown in game 1 was one thing, but game 2 was a winnable game. He started the 4th quarter with cam Payne, we went into the quarter tied. We then go down 6. A timeout is called, we come out with the same lineup which included Cam Payne, we go down 12.
I said this earlier in the threads. He lost the job when he lost Game 2. A lot of inner circles and front office statisticians did NOT like that.
SEE YA THIBS! Just like I called it

Yeah, he loved this sht with everything. It was his true passion and im glad that he was able to live his dream job and taking us to the ecf was one of the greatest experiencing I've had watching this team. his "shortcomings" and "ffailures" lead to his demise here but his overall tenure should be celebrated. He is a knicks legend.
And yeah I hope he finds peace. He fcking deserves it.

Luv those Knicks wrote:If they're going to do it, best to get it done quick and start looking for a new coach and . . . Maybe the best thing about this. No more complaining about Thibs.
snadler wrote:I will say this again, many of you place too much responsibility on the coach, and again, Thibs was far from perfect, but when you watch Brunson and KAT come up small, you watch the struggles they had especially with KaT and his brain lapses on defense, you see the lack of shooting, the lack of another ball handler to help Brunson out, to see a team without the athletes to keep up with the pacers. Again, to blame the coach for the loss roster flaws is just flat out wrong. Again with ALL OF THAT SAID, I trust Leon and his decision making. I am disappointed Thibs is gone, but I WILL
KEEP SAYING THIS, a new coach WILL NOT FIX THE ROSTER FLAWS..but now this is step one, i will keep saying this a new coach deserves to not have KAT and brunson..at least give the new coach a chance

For the first time Dolan stayed out of the way. I’m confident he collapsed under the pressure of a conf finals visit.
Dollars to donuts that this wasn't a Dolan decision. It was definitely Leon Rose's decision.
Agreed. Like it or loathe it this really looks like Leon Rose already having identified that Thibs needed to go. My thread probably tipped him off in mid-season. My post that Thibs needed to go even if the Knicks won the championship, early in the playoffs, was probably the final piece of information he needed.

Brunson knew...make no mistake...thats why he repeated the question at the post game press conference
Doubt he knew. Seems like a genuine guy. I’m sure Brunson is upset but in the same way like trading someone like Donte, Brunson is committed to the ultimate task of winning a title and all that it comes with.
