Just looking at cap -- besides KAT for Durant - I came up with two "math" trades

OG and Robinson

Hart, Bridges and Robinson

My guess, the Knicks wouldn't do either but I would prefer either of those over Durant for KAT straight up. If just talking about the Knicks only for Durant

KD FOR COOPER
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I know the Durant options are the flavor of the day, but any interest in the following?

PHX trades: Beal, Allen, 20216 #1 (lotto protected), 2 #2's
PHX receives: KCP, Isaac, Hachimura, Dorian Finney Smith

PHX ups the ante on defense and versatility with complimentary pieces

ORL trades: KCP, Isaac, Bitadze, Anthony
ORL receives: Beal, Knecht, PHX 2026 #1, 2 #2's

ORL knows it needs backcourt help. Orlando is a nice warm weather destination for Beals family to waive the no-trade clause and they are a playoff team. Beal's deal will look more palatable after this summers $70M extensions.

LAL trades: Knecht, Hachimura, DFS
LAL receives: Bitadze, Anthony, Allen

LA upgrades both the front court and backcourt at positions of need while adding Allens shooting and experience.

This trade would make trading Durant more optional rather than necessary, though I think the writing would still be on the wall. This would make a KAT trade more doable due to his defensive issues being able to be covered up by Isaac, Hachimura

Thoughts on fit, thoughts on value?

EDIT: Any interest in grabbing Thibs to lead this team?

Not sure the Suns have their pick in 2026 -- I thought they sent it for Nurkic

That would be "a dream come true" type of trade for the Suns. Too good to happen IMO.

And Thibs... I would pass.

Suns coach news per Gambo:

Book sat in for the interviews only when it was the final 5.

Multiple candidates said GM Gregory was the only one who asked questions and his questions were excellent and thorough, and it was one of the most comprehensive interviews they had been thru.

Per Fanspo they do, though there are swap rights attached.

Fanspo is incorrect, then.

This idea is good for the Suns but I think LA and Orlando would both pass very quickly.

Giving up a draft pick with Beal doesn't make sense though if they would accept it - probably would do it

My guess, Beal will be bought out and stretched. Granted, just how much of a deduction will he take. I see how value on the open market as below the full MLE, so 10-12m on at best a one year prove it deal. Maybe a club option in year 2

Gambo:

Keep an eye on the Spurs for KD.

He expects the trade close before the draft.

The Atlanta Hawks are interested in trading for Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant, a source told Sam Amico of Hoops Wire.

The Hawks would be an interesting option for the Suns. Some good players/assets there.

Thanks, LAL I'm not sure would pass quickly, and the ORL value I think is harder to gauge. LAL was willing to pay Knecht to get Williams. Bitadze is less of a win that Williams skill wise, but is a solid big which the desperately need. ORL value is tougher to gauge admittedly, though I think there is a little question they need experience and Beal is definitely better than what they currently have in their backcourt. The question would be how to even the values.

Yeah, I'm specifically looking at where Beal will have value that matches his goals. I think ORL makes a great destination candidate to avoid the stretch costs. The picks(S) are tricky and in general I am not in favor, though in this case I think the return outweighs the cost.

Seems that's more his opinion on KD but interesting to hear that as I would think it'll happen in July.
Perhaps the Suns have a deal lined up already and are waiting until the finals are over before pulling the trigger. I still think it'll be the Spurs.

If it's KAT, I'm a Hornets fan on lease until the Suns get their act together.

What do you want from Spurs? 14th pick, Vassell, Keldon Johnson (both are mediocre players) and a filler?

I'd accept that honestly! Not as a top offer. But for sure better than nothing! Then I'd trade Vassell to another team for more players and another solid pick, or fillers, expirings and picks. And I also might look to trade back in the draft using the 14th pick for maybe the 19th, and 26th picks from Brooklyn?

That'd give us the 19, 26th, and 29th picks to add three cost controlled young talents to take swings on.

This would be solid for us! As long as it's a package of something with:

1- Sign n trade of Capela.
2- Dyson Daniels or Jalen Johnson centric package.
3- the 13th (SAC 25' 1st) and 22nd picks ( LAL 25' 1st). That'd give us the 13th, 22nd and 29th picks, a starting center and a premium young wing forward!.

Orlando makes a lot of sense on the court but he just makes too much to add onto their books. They're already likely going to be a first apron team next year before an extension for Banchero even kicks in.
