My thing with the assistant candidates like Bryant, Quinn, Cassell is that we really don’t know what their philosophy or vision for this team is.

They have no track record to look at. So we really don’t know much… they’re gunna have to be vetted by Leon n Co to make sure we get the right one.

Phil was an assistant when Bulls replaced Doug with him, or Ime/ Mazzula with Celtics

Kerr wasn't even an assistant when Dubs hired him

My banhmi sandwich at this point would do better than Thibs as our hc BUT in my most honest humble opinion he'll do great, even championship quality as NBA coach, his fiery personality still remains and is a perfect fit for the NY city and fanbase, he's a tough no nonsense guy who commands immediate respect cuz he's a an NBA champion as a player but he is no fake tough he has to put on the tough guy acts all the time, he can play good cop and bad cop, he knows how to push the right buttons for each individual player

I know this is a hot take but imo if you can manage egos of women (WNBA) so well and coach them to WNBA titles, you can definitely manage men's egos... women's emotions are imo FAR more complex and they're harder to motivate or command respect from no matter if our old conservative thoughts say women always have to follow men's lead, but reality is it's not that simple... and he THRIVED in it... imo he can EASILY manage NBA caliber players' egos

As someone who watches the WNBA religiously...I say this with all due respect, this is not it fam.

This doesn't mean Kat doesn't get moved for Giannis. That all can still happen. But this shows the franchise is serious about winning. They are not settling for good when they feel the championship is around the corner. This is going to be a big summer. Let's see what happens.

They are more invested in KAT than Bridges. Bridges is also not CAA.

Bridges for a guy that helps better shield KAT defensively like JJJ.

For the right trade I would have no issue moving both but now that Thibs is gone I would put the order of preferred expendable assets with the some value as:

1. Bridges
2. Hart
3. Mitch Robinson
3. KAT
4. McBride


Mitch Robinson while needing to be load managed is a game changer defensively.

I could absolutely see them trade Bridges and Mitch for JJJ and Clarke. With JJJ agreeing to extend.

Then Divo for McBride, Kolek, Tucker (salary filler) and a 2nd rd pick

Johnnie Bryant relies on a motion offense with constant back cuts and spacing. It’s perfect for today’s NBA, the Cavs run a lot of sets that we used to run last year with Donte and ihart and back cutters. His defensive philosophies were amazing, he ran the 2-3 zone defense in game 3 with the Cavs that beat the pacers, but Atkinson went away from it in game 4 and 5 for no reason. He’s the best up and coming modern NBA coach

The body is still warm but all that freelancing Karl did on defense needs to be addressed because a man just lost his job over this

I'd feel a bit better if some of those poor defensive schemes turn out to be because of the coach.

The bench wasn't great but there is zero reason why we couldn't have run a 9 to 10 man rotation well before the playoffs. Wright, Shamet, Deuce, Mitch, Precious all should have been playing with the starters.
