Looks like he could come in day one and be a rich man's Micic. He was one of the more interesting prospects when I'd read about this year's crop, but the couple of times I tried to see him in action weren't his best. Another big creator for when LaMelo is unavailable/off the court could be helpful for scheme consitency.

I’ll definitely have to do more research. Measurable look solid at least.

there's likely nothing here but speculation. the only mentions of the Hornets:

Kon Knueppel On the Rise
Knueppel had an exceptional freshman year at Duke and is a player multiple teams liked after the combine. He measured very well at 6-foot-5 (without shoes) and shot the ball extremely well during the on-court shooting drills. Prior to the combine and draft lottery, Knueppel’s draft range was anywhere from late lottery to end of the first round but the way the lottery fell has certainly worked in his favor. Teams like the Utah (Jazz No. 5 pick) and Charlotte Hornets (No. 4) are showing interest in the versatile guard and like his ability to seamlessly slide in alongside a star, ball-dominante player like Flagg and still find ways to positively impact the game.

Crickets on Kasparas Jakucionis…. Does He Have a Promise?
It’s very unusual to not hear anything about a player heading into the draft. When there are no rumors, no discussion of draft range or workouts, it typically smells like a team has made a promise. It’s both sides holding their cards close and not leaking anything. The player this year is 6-foot-6 Illinois guard Jakucionis. There hasn’t been a single word out on him. His draft range is anywhere from 6-16 and there’s a feeling that he left the draft combine with a promise. The Hawks could be targeting a bigger backup point guard to Trae Young and they’re sitting at No. 13. He could also go as high at No. 6 to Charlotte to bring some size in the backcourt. The Hornets kept things very quiet all the way up until draft day last year when they surprised a lot of people and selected Tidjan Salaun and Jakucionis could be another player they are quietly targeting this year.

(They don't even get the pick right here, the author of this article's logic is that because we drafted a complete nobody last year, we might draft the guy nobody talks about again. This is a nothing burger)

Lots of questionable stuff in this article. for example the Spurs are very obviously not going to draft Maluach, they love Wemby at C not PF.

He could also go as high at #6 to Charlotte?

Are we sure we should be taking this report seriously. They don't even know we pick #4.

But if the interest is real this tells me they recognize we need another legit playmaker on offense. Does this move Melo to sg or do we just make Jaku the off ball guard.

Most people view him as a PG. Will be interesting to see how that dynamic works with Melo.

Looks like an OKC Thunder type of player. IQ. Size for position. Court vision. Workable outside shot. Solid all-around ball handling and playmaking skills. Can pressure the rim and draw fouls.

Why does the promise have to be from a lottery team?

I actually like him. He brings something we actually need which is another playmaker and ball handler. High IQ as well. Defense is my only concern with Jaku.

I worry about his athleticism and I hate to say that because look at the craftiest players in the league and you get Luka who's playing Free Willy at his community theater - the part of the whale.

Jokic is another not super poppy athlete.

I'm always for drafting skill over raw athleticism. Really skilled players can make up for lack of burst or lift.

Would Jaku be the PG or SG?

I don't think it really matters tbh I think both can play together and both can play off ball. Would basically have 2 PGs making plays.

I would prefer a trade back scenario if we do go Jaku. Not sure he's the 4th best player on the board.

Not to get too snooty and I don't want to talk about VJ behind his back, but Jaku is the Klay Thompson of this draft, while VJ is the Bismack Biyombo.

Makes me wonder if Jeff is having more of those "magical" conversations with Steve Clifford.

I think people are running with this rumor too much right now, could it happen? Yeah.
I just doubt that we are taking KJ over Bailey or VJ at 4.

There will be a lot of rumors over the next 2 weeks, I am trying to enjoy each one equally Severance style.

yeah, after seeing what peek wrote, not much here and wrong pick/team at 6, not us.

so....

i think kaspar is only is play in a trade down scenario to 7 or later.

I also don't think he'll go quite that high, but I do think he is one of the guys who should be in the convo at least. My short list would be Edgecombe, Bailey, Johnson, Jakucionis, Demin, and Fears.
