Speaking of Rickea, another Sparks loss puts the Storm into pole position for the top lottery odds in 2026.

Probably won't end up that way. Sky (via CON), Wings, Lynx (via Sky), and Valkyries should be heavy competition for it.

Also holding the Aces pick. Just a little extra sweetener they threw in for Jewell.

I haven't caught their last couple. What's going on with her?

Seems to be an issue with her and the coach. Apparently she's taken leave from the team and removed anything Sparks related from her socials.

If I'm the GM of the Sparks I'm calling her and the coach into my office and we're hashing that out today. Jackson is way too good a talent.

Damn. I hope they can get it worked out.

Sparks are not an organization I trust to get it worked out though.

We'll see if this rumor is true. If so, I'd be wary of taking her own. Second-year players should be seen and not heard.

I hate to say it, but I tend to agree. She has a lot of talent. But she played on a team that won 8 games last year, and may not do much better this year.

Hamby was the best player last year, Brink was the 2nd best when healthy. This year, it's Hamby, Plum, Azura playing well on a team that's going to lose a lot of games.

3rd or 4th best player on a team that is going to compete for the #1 overall pick doesn't seem like a great time to be demanding out.

Meanwhile, you got Sarah Ashlee Barker giving it all to stay on this bad team.

Much as it seems like I"m **** on the Sparks, I'm not. I like what they have cooking. They've got some talent, and potentially a bright future. If Rickea doesn't want to be a part of the build and thinks she's graduated past the point of having to be a part of a new build, I could see moving on.

I think it’s the perfect time. She got a raw deal last year (watched a ton of games) and isn’t going to wait another year, while her development is messed up.

Hot take: The way Dearica Hamby played last year (not the box score) but the selfish play (looking off teammates, not playing defense) was the biggest reason their failures last year.

That's interesting.
Didn't follow the Sparks terribly closely last year, so I trust your assessment.

I've been a Hamby fan in the time I've watched her.

Can't argue with any of it, I"m not knowledgeable enough to. This is all new to me, and I appreciate your insight.

I hope it works out for both of them.

Yeah who the hell did they protect? Her & Sheldon would have given opponents hell on defense, but offer little on offense. Burton is my fave point guard in the league

Sun and Storm both were in a situation where they could essentially protect like 7-8 because of the previously cored players.

I don't think the Sun needed to use a protection on DW, for instance. I'd guess they protected AT, DIjonai, Mabrey, Bri, Ty Harris, and maybe ONO?

AT and DW were done and that was a wrap.

Glad for GSV on Burton. They are such a fun team.

I just read that WNBA is beating out NHL on national broadcasts? Is this true?
